She. ^.~

And I'm just older, that's the problem.

I was raised believing that if it isn't a life necessity, and you can't afford to buy it for yourself, then you go without. Anime is a huge luxury - it's like the people who go out and waste their savings on a classic car that will never leave the garage - it does *nothing* except sit there so you can look at it. If you can't afford it, then you don't need it. I would have loved to get a free vcr as a kid, but they were too expensive - we did without until we could afford one (months after the Disney movie 'Beauty and the Beast' came out - to give a time frame).

I just don't see the right a child has to cry because he can't have something he can't afford to get for himself. I never cried because my brother bought a truck he worked hard to pay for - I didn't cry because no one would give me a free one I didn't earn or need. I waited till I could get one - and I didn't go out and pick up the first $100 car I saw being offered - I wanted something worth owning. When you work for your luxuries, you appreciate that quality is worth paying a little more.

Here is greenwood is availabled on Subtitled VHS. They showed it at the anime club here last semester, and a quick google search just confirmed it. No idea where you can buy it though.

Well said.

I agree with Ari regarding quality, most of friends have offered to burn me many a series, but I'd rather not have to sit through some poorly encoded error-riden fansub when I watch anime...not to mention watching something on a nice big tv, while sitting on a comfy couch with a bunch of friends is far more fun than staring at a computer screen in my opinion...

I care not about extras, they make no difference to me when I'm buying dvds, it's just whether or not I want the anime in question. Simple.

Also, what company was RK released by? It varies significantly over here *Canada*....

Pioneer/Bandai/Funimation = $50
ADV= $25
Media Blasters/Software Sculptors= $30
*approximate values
etc

And it's not impossible to find cheaper anime prices, it just requires effort.

Yeah....I've seen the subtitled on a site before (I thought it was a fansub, though - it didn't sound like a US copy). I should have said dvd alone - I'd want a duel version of it, or the original version. ^_^;;

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

we're not dissing, we're pointing out. For some odd reason, I can't read anything unless it's prperly typed out (or witten) so all that AOL lingo and crap is just jibberish to me. Anyways, if they lowered the prices for the illegal copies, all the sweat shops that make them will lose money and then all the people whow ere employed by them will be laid off and then the unemployment percentage will rise.

Thena agin, you could always ban all the copies of illegal anime but I don't think whoever that is incharge of illegal stuff would bother with it. But if they did, orginal anime will most likely rise in prices which I won't want as consumer.

so basically

I pulled all this stuff out of my butt. :?
