I haven't seen this, but it sounds like Gundam Wing to me. Crash, shot goes off and bits of the building are falling on Relena - next thing you know Heero has the arm of his Gundam over her, sheltering her and is confused out of his mind as to how and why he reacted like that (since he wanted to kill her). Just from the description, it sounds very similar.

Maybe it's one of those 'cliche' scenes found in many anime. Or Eva is the only anime allowed to use typical scenarios and shots done for the purpose of conveying general ideas to the viewers.

rahxephon is nothing like gundamn wing. gandamn wing, more than anything, is a hardcore political drama

. anyway, i found rahxephon about as interesting as watching sesame street, with the tv turned off

Comparing the two would be unfair, as each has merits of it's own accord. As for RahXephon, what I can is this:
There's extended metaphor, analogue and symbolism in the opening scene, before the episode even starts. Namely, the five scenes with clock/hourglass in them, not to mention the winged RahXephon at the vocal part "It's calling me again".
According to the RahXephon Bible, the song title "Hemisphere" may be a reference to Tokyo Jupiter.

As for me, I rather like it.

Comparing apples to oranges, however, is possible. Oranges contain more nutrition (by weight, net adjusted for skin content) than apples, and are the disparities in unit cost are negligible.

RahXephon is actually one of the few animes that i actually like and the ending it good. Some endings like eva, Angel Sactuary, fruits baskets are hard to understand and have stupid endings. >.<

congratulations!... although yes, it's now a dumb topic since it's been pointed out that everyone has their own opinion, like everyone else, i'll still stick to my guns with my anime choice, but keeping in mind that in the future i might re-post saying i like RahXephon... after i watch it

btw, hard to understand does not equal stupid... eva's ending requires more than average thought, so yes, it is hard to understand, but i disagree that it was stupid... if it had had asuka be more loving towards shinji, rei get a tan, and kaji marrying misato with gendo as the best man and ritsuko as the flower girl... then THAT would be a shitty ass ending... hopefully researching the many threads already existing on this forum will better help you understand the ending to Eva looking through both the TV AND Movie ending

...i can't speak for fruits basket or angel sanctuary anymore than i can speak for RahXephon seeing as i've seen none of them... i'm just here to defend a series i enjoy... 8)

saying everyone has their own opinion and that we should all get along is dumb... the purpose of a forum is to interact with one another and discuss material in an intelligent and productive fashion for the good of all...
