And boring and higher maintenanced. A gamer who also likes anime and the occasional breath of outside air is fine. Which would be better: a geek who makes you happy or a cutie who always complains they're bored?

I have to say that this has absolutely NOTHING to do with anime.

Hell, I only ogled chicks at the last convention I went to. I conducted myself like a complete gentleman. I do want to meet a special someone at the next one I go to, preferably the girl-with-glasses-who-goes-to-the-same-anime-club-but-who-I've-never-talked-to-and-I-don't-know-her-name.

Good point, ebichuman! The only reason I thought of this question in the first place was because I went the hot/bored girl route and now I think I have the chance to go for the other type...it's a moral dilemma!

In my case...anime and AMVs kinda came into the picture later on...

For me, anime fan or not, I think as far as similar interests are concerned, I'd prefer to date someone with musical background. Most of my closest friends are musicians (I came from a high school with a BIG music program. We saw each other every day.) In college I have a hefty commute. I don't see a lot of people. The ones I hang out with the most are the guys in the basketball pep band.

It wasn't that hard to have such a group to hang out with.

I am a much bigger anime fan then I was this time last year. I don't feel like I was pushed into liking anime or AMVs. He really liked them so I just...approached it with an open mind and I grew to like it too.

I mean...being a musician is a real plus for me because of the common interest factor. But I know a LOT of musicians. I wouldn't date the person if I didn't feel comfortable talking with them about life/problems/opinions or doing different things outside of the usual shared interests.

Yeah we talk a lot about music, anime and AMVs but our conversations are not limited to just those topics.

Actually compromise can be a good thing. Before I was a little weirded out when an ex-girlfriend suggested role-playing. Now I can't get enough of girls in those maid, nurse and schoolgirl outfits... especially when they're in those thigh-high stockings. Image
man u hit the spot there ... they always get to me ... gotta love it ... 8)

Jon, demented...you've brought up what's probably the most seious and grave prospects of finding a girl that likes anime. This aspect alone controls the central point, nay, I say the axis of marital bliss for the anime lover. Ah, therefore we drink in one of the greatest of all the pleasures in life!

Hm, it's almost funny how easy it is to make something like having a girl dress up like a Japanese schoolgirl sound like something of grandeure! ....
