Pretty sure it won't be animated, but I heard that it was going to be made into a movie ( i think it's expected to come out in 2005). Correct me if I'm wrong.Yukina_Raven wrote:Can't remember the author's name, but the fantasy novel "Eragon". It's about a boy and his dragon.
After all, there aren't many anime series out there that feature dragons.

"The Forgotten Door" (I forgot the author's name, and I'm too lazy to look for the book in my room...) "The Crimson Petal and the White" by Michael Faber would make a decent anime if the characters motives, or maybe the plot was changed a bit. I enjoy the novel's setting overall. Victorian times.. heh. Maybe... MAYBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Johnny Angel" if Johnny wasn't oh so nice, lol. Or maybe he could stay the same and it could be a dramatic anime.. yeah.. it would work.

Heh you stole my suggestion.thistledown wrote: What I'd love to see done in some medium is Pern. I think if they did a good job on the dragons, it could come off really well.
Problem is McCaffery is really protective of her work and does not want others to take her ideas and put new spins on them. Otherwise we would have seen a Pern movie by now. I heard she has rejected quite a number of opportunities to make a film. She doesn't even allow fanfiction and fan art to be posted on gallery websites (such as fanfiction.net and Elfwood).
So in the freakish chance that an anime were to be made, I think it would be a sure-fire thing to carry on the same spirit of the books because she probably wouldn't allow it to be otherwise.

what can we do???
So there are a lot of books that deserve to be animated... Can we do aomething about it? Write to a certain studio to take it into consideration? Or to a certain person? To check it up at least. There must be something we can do about it.... at least i hope... (faints from the patriotic effort and crawls away)
Any suggestions out there????

YUS!! I forgot about those three...AWESOME books! They would make a pretty cool anime series.DRGREY wrote:Harry Potter, Broken Sky, The Body of Christopher Creed, Pendragon Series, Secrets of Droon, Avalon: Web of magic, Sabriel, Lireal, and Abhorsen (they are a series), andThe Tales of the Dimwood Forest series.
