Now let's just hope they manage to avoide 'the anime curse'.

Seriously, I had to check and make sure this wasn't some necropost.

I estimated that Inuyasha would end at 170 episodes, this was late last year when I estimated that too.

However, I am only up to episode 38 right now.

i read the manga. its physically impossible to end an anime when the manga is STILL RUNNING. if the manga ended today, it would take twice as many eps as that news post claims is left to end the show. theres NO way this is real.

Kare Kano did it. On a side note is that manga finished? Or still running?

On topic, anime and manga that run for excessively long periods of time(DBZ, Inu Yasha, Naruto, and God help me if I don't love everyone of them) seem to be less about the story telling and more about making money. I call it the Soup Opera effect.

except, im going to argue that, in the case of inuyasha. many people get disilluisioned by the severely bad filler that dominates the recent anime, but the manga is solid. takahashi is getting close to an end, no doubt about that. according to interviews, she probably had the whole story basically set down early on. the anime people are the ones killing this.

On discussing this with a friend, he pointed out the so called Kenshin Curse. Kenshin also ended before its manga, and suffered the same effect: terrible, gutwrenching filler arcs that sapped the strength and interest of a good story. so i suppose it IS possible, but with such a direct story manga like inuyasha, i feel bad for people who dont read the manga, and wont get to see the end.

Finally. That anime desperately needs an ending. Fo' Rizzles.

I haven't even watched half of it... but it gets to a point where things seem to be too repetative. They need to wrap it up until they start repeating episodes with characters that only have a two-letter name difference.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to check out the manga, like I have to with so many others. On the plus side, I'm getting use to reading from right to left.
