Kind or down to Earth or hotheaded... So that leaves out serial killers and "Don`t fuck with me" characters.

Re: Anime Hair Color
The answer is obvious to anyone who does a little research, and thus the question really does not need to be asked. Color/ hairstyle is used to identify different characters. If you were to photoshop and cut all the hair off of each LH character, you could swap them around and notice little to no difference.TheKorovaMilkbar wrote:Anime Hair Color.
Is it significant? When did wierd hair colors start? How did it come about?
Just questions that went through my mind when looking at the nuku nuku thread.
Thoughts? Answers? Anyone?

The point of the topic was not only to answer the question for MY benefit (otherwise I would have just done research and saved time and forum space), but also to bring up a topic for people to think upon.
A lot of people overlook the fact of hair color in anime because they have gotten used to it. Sure, I may have wondered about it when I first started watching anime, but eventually, the question left my mind. It's good to ponder things that we dismiss as normal every once in a while.

The point is WHY does a certain character have that specific hair color to begin with. Does the artist randomly just choose a color, or does he want to leave a certain tone about the character such as aggressiveness or sensuality.RootHubController wrote:If you were to photoshop and cut all the hair off of each LH character, you could swap them around and notice little to no difference.

Sometimes a cigar is just a fucking ciger- Freud
Why ask Why? You don't need to know everything about it, just lay back and enjoy it. - My ex
If it's stupid, but works, it ain't stupid. -#12 rule in Combat.
In other words:
because the animators felt like it.
Because someone jerked off in mexico.
Because somewhere on this planet there's a man who drives a white volkswagon beetle.
JUST BECAUSE.
Stop losing sleep over something so pithy.

"and sometimes a cigar is a big brown dick!"- George Carlin
most of the time it has to do with relaying the characters personality.
like if the hair is short and black they are probably somewhat serious(Guts,Berserk / Kaski,Duel / Jet Black,Cowboy Bebop)
if they have long, messed up, colorful hair they are probably a very fun loving person (Spike and Faye,Cowboy Bebop / Loretta,Wild Arms / Gene,Outlaw Star / Millie,Trigun)

Trust me, I don't let the little things bother me.
But I also don't deny myself the why and how of a good topic every once in a while. I like to think, and I like to spark thought. Didn't you notice that people were putting in there thoughts and guesses. They had to stop and think for a moment. Some knew, some didn't. It doesn't hurt to wonder and put thought into things, whether you know the answer to them or not, and whether or not they are ultimately pointless questions, you still have the opportunity to think about them. For example, this thread. I could have posted a question on where the edge of the universe is. But I didn't want to try and figure out the answer to that question, because everyone asks it. Instead of thinking about something normal, I thought about something abnormal. Something nobody thought to ask. Something that would SPARK, if even just for an instant, interest and thought.
The mind is a terrible thing to waste.
