To date, none has left a bigger impression on me than the wonderful TV adaptation of Naoki Urasawa's manga "Monster", which is as faithful to the story and athmospheric in art as it ever needs to be.
Stylistically though, it's not everyone's cup of tea.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Although I haven't seen a lot of the series, I would say One Piece is definitely my favorite anime show. I haven't seen (nor do I want to see) the dubs. I have only seen the uncut fansubs.
What makes this series one of the most popular out there is the balance between action, comedy, and storyline. The storyline folds out and becomes more and more intriguing as you continue to watch. The main character, Monkey D. Luffy (or just Luffy for short), is an enjoyable and hilarious pirate who rarely is serious about anything. But even though he is good natured, he gets pushed to the edge once or twice. Another notable character in the series would be Zoro (not Zorro). A fighter who tends to be on the serious side and has the amazing ability to wield three (that's right, 3) swords. One in each hand and one between his teeth. An interesting cast and a colorful world make this series worth checking out.
