what got all yall into anime?

uh, hi, everybody. actually, i am a little nervous right now cause i've never talked online like this.

anywho... i just got into anime about three months ago. i had kinda seen it before but thought it was creepy and something to stay away from. man, was i wrong. when i recently changed schools i met this cool girl who is an anime fanatic. she said i had the makings of an anime fan and made me watch it and read manga. THANK YOU! i am now complete.

Anyway, for me i used to watch some DBZ way back when but i didnt really like it that much... Then a friend of mine gave me Kenshin fansubs and i was hooked... Then i discovered the internet and my life ended...

Along time ago... In a Suburben home far far away...

There was a young highschool freshmen randomly flipping through the TV channels after school instead of doing homework. He came across a then little segment on Cartoon Network: Toonami.

Let's see, this was back in what, 1999? (Man, this brings back memories.)
For thoughs of you who don't think well in terms of years; or were too young to remember, around this time Toonami was just finishing up the sayian saga. You herd me; The Sayian Saga. I spent alot of highschool aftenoons vigerously glued to the TV waiting for the newest ep to come on.

Anyway, back on track. I didn't really get into anime until a couple years after my introduction into DBZ. At the time I was really into a table top war game called Warhammer. (If you don't know what that is go here, www.games-workshop.com ) While I was attending a hotel convention (Gangus Con) for games such as warhammer and LARPing, I stumbled into a dark and noisy room.

There in, I saw something that transended my experiences with DBZ. On a conference room screen I saw Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust. Then after sitting down and forgeting what I was really there for, I also saw a few eps of Exel Saga, Those Who Hunt Elves, and oddly enough, some live action gundum movie.

So It was just the anime that took hold of me. It was the feeling of finding something so cool, so magical in such an unlikly place. I still remeber leaving the con because the projector completly over heated and broke...
...Good times.

So yeah. that's how I got into anime.

Hi all I'm new! Erm lets see... first anime i remember watching was probably Transformers although back then I had no idea what anime was lol! But the thing that got me into anime mostly was DragonBall Z!
I live in the UK so it's hard to find any good anime's on TV so after getting the net I desided to find import dvd's so now im into quite a few animes ^_^

Saw Sailor Moon...didn't like it. Saw DBZ...didn't like it. Then Pokemon came around and I liked it, and then I watched Sailor Moon and DBZ again and LOVED them, and now I can't stand DBZ, but I still love Sailor Moon and always will.

Funny story. See, i used to hate anime. Than after watching Wolf's rain, for the fact i love wolves, made me love anime (or only wolf's rain). So, I watched a few Inuyasha episodes and I would say "This sucks!" Than a few week later I actually wanted to watch it, so as I watched it I realized what was doing and said "SON OF A B****! THEY GOT ME AGAIN!"

anime is the best well one of the bests things that was ever invented(tv is the best to watch said anime) anyways i first started watching anime whaen i was in like 2nd grade with pokemon of course since ever body had the cards and were watching it to i was liked why not i then started watching sailor moon & drangon ball z and i was like hooked so a couple years pasted & i forgot about anime even though i never knew what it really was and i was in 7th grade & a couple of my friends were wathching Toonami and said "anime is so cool" i asked "what the f*** is anime" they said shows like rurouni kenshen & tenchi muyo i was like dawg i loved those shows i didn't know they had a special name they also got me into manga were i spent like 3 months allowence(over $200) on and thats were it leavs me now in love with anime and broke!!!!!!!!!!!

i hate dbz now since i found way better anime
