Hmm... good point there. Sonic X was DEFINITLY tailored for an American release.
I'm thinking the trend may be that unless it is based off a manga, then some shows might be targeted at a primarily foreign audience. I'm thinking that will only apply to TV shows though and only for young kids. You think they'd make shows like Cowboy Bebop and Trigun and purposely aim them at a main foreign audience?

I like anime cause I like animation in general. Its just that most of the good quality storylines, voice acting, music, and art styles (They have some crappy art styles as well, but I don't watch those). Unlike here where the only good cartoons are usually the funny ones. Batman is one of the only animations that was made in here the US that came close to meeting the standards seen in many anime (As far as quality). I heard that it was intended for a more mature audiance but as you can see.. that didn't fall through well.
That said, normal TV is pretty boring. Once in awhile they'll come up with something cool like FireFly and then kill it off. There are other things I enjoy watching on TV though, but not much.

I hate moke animes. And you are right they do just don't compare. The right path will be if an american anime series comes out, and has an acctual storyline that is only about 24-26 episdoes long very few fillers, A WHOLE LOT OF STORY LINE TIEING IT TOGETHER! and NO SEQUEALS! That whole dead horse thing is so true. I mean America litterally sucks TV shows and what not that they show dry to the bone. This could not do that. That is the only way they will do it right, and they also need to break some censor laws.supersayian313 wrote:dosent it seem like american cartoons are trying to have an anime feel to them, like they are trying to get in on it. like teen titans. they just dont compare.

It's more amazing than any other TV. I'm not much of a movie person. I love regular TV but there's never a television show that gives me the same experience as a good anime.

True along with Evangelion...though it hasn't been aired on t.v. in the states...but I fell in love with anime for I just loved everything that anime had to offer.....American television isn't what it used to be so when I found anime it was what the doctor ordered....a few heads getting chopped off here....some girls dying and being reborn there...a few big robots and kids that are supposed to save the world but in the end the world is just recreated....eh...gotta love anime....OtakuMan22 wrote:
How do I know this? Because even the most commercialized and hyped anime in Japan will still be original and unique.
Exhibit A) Sailor Moon! Heroine to young girls and fanboys alike! In Japan, there was SOOOO much merchandise available that it seemed silly. From endorsed food products to toys to who knows what else! Yet, that did not keep Sailor Moon from being something so unique and different that the USA can never HOPE to duplicate it. Case in point: Winx Club... it just ain't gonna happen!
This is what a weekend of soju does to a person!
