Kenshin Seisouhen -- I've never gotten teary-eyed over an anime before this one.. ;_;
Also, the Presence segment of Robot Carnival is absolutely AWESOME -- very moving; it's what got me into anime in the first place.
And as much as I wince when I watch it, 'Kite' certainly leaves you with an odd feeling after you've seen it -- VERY depressing and it messes with your senses.. of course, I've only seen the edited version, and that was enough for me...

Evangelion. Because you have to see it to believe it
And it really makes you think about all that... and the characters turn out to be very vell developed and could be really real ^^
Princess Mononoke for the issue with the industrialization and nature struggle. Plus Ashi Taka's inner struggle with his hatred.
I have only seen the first eps of NTHT yet, but there are already very depressing. I can't wait to watch the rest this weekand!

Dog of Flanders
I shouldn't be surprised that no one has mentioned this title yet, yet I am!
The Dog of Flanders!!!
One of the most unappreciated, overlooked anime classics ever!
I'm also egotistical enough to tout my review site of this film!
http://www.uwyo.edu/anime/reviews/dogofflanders.htm
And since Christmas time is almost upon us, it's the perfect time to track this title down and watch it since the film has a christmas angle to it!!! YAH!!!
(I make it sound like such a happy film...it has its moments, yeah...but visit my site to find out more!)

If you want something that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, NOTHING beats Fruits Basket. Other ones that have already been mentioned here but deserve mentioning again are Saber Marionette J, Love Hina, and Kenshin.
Also, nobody has mentioned it, but if you want tear-jerking fun, watch Sailor Moon SuperS. I couldn't help but cry so many times while watching that series. Especially any of the really touching scenes with Pegasus and Chibiusa. I cried like a baby when Pegasus told Chibiusa he had to leave, and she grabbed onto the Stallion Stable (The name of the crystal ball she uses to communicate with him) and started crying and begging him not to go. Or the episode where Chibiusa and Usagi switch bodies, and Pegasus can't recognize her, and ends up revealin gthe truth to her about his world.. but I won't give away any spoiling details.. Let's just say that the scenes to follow that event get to me every time.
Seriously.. I don't care if you don't like Sailor Moon.. it's probably just because you never gave it a chance or you can't stand anime of that genre... but oh well. We all have anime we don't like.. Like me.. I don't like Demon City Shinjuku, I don't like DBZ or DBGT, I don't liek Pilot Candidate, Zoids, or Rockman EXE... and I found Yu Yu Hakusho to be kinda boring.. but I only saw a few eps.
Anyway, that's all.

Most Moving...
Grave of the Fireflies is very depressing and one I think many should see since it talks about the horrible effects war has on innocent civillians... something I think everyone needs to think about in our current political climate.
El Hazard (the original OAV) is one of the best romantic titles... the moment Ifurita enters the Eye of God and Makoto shares his memories with her... it is one of the most moving moments in anime.
Evangelion is moving on so many levels, I can't begin to write about it here... the TV series was such a great thing and I feel the movie only injured the important messages of the TV series (even though there are a few things I like about the movie). However, I have talked a lot about EVA and don't want to turn this thread into an EVA debate. Anyone wants to talk EVA, they can just e-mail me.
Kiki's Delivery Service is just nice... it's a feel-good film in the best sense of that term. The same thing could be said about Whispers of the Heart.
The Hakkenden has some very moving moments in it. The story that introduces Keno has a very important message behind it and when Keno realizes what is happening... well... it just really grabs you. The last episode is quite gripping...and in the end... just so draining...
Ranma 1/2 has this one OAV episode that I found to be touching. It is really a simple episode, but it is probably my favorite Ranma episode, which is when AKane finds her mother's cookbook. Speaking of touching in Ranma...let us not forget that great moment with Mousse in the 2nd movie...
A series I never expected to have any kind of emotional involvement at all was I'm Gonna be an Angel. I have a bootleg copy and I NEVER expected that show to be anything other than goofy... but those last few episodes are great!!!
Anyway... just wanted to throw out a few thoughts.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

I have to throw Samurai X in there. Very cool to see how our beloved Kenshin became the man he is today. The why and the who of that scar and the incredible weight that it holds.

All I can say to that statement: Absolute exactly! I even shared a tear when watching that movie, OMG it is so depressing.UncleMilo wrote:Most Moving...

Also I have to mention Now and Then, Here and There. Although it is depressing most of the time, there is always hope (maybe because Shu's just so kindhearted).
