Perhaps not technically for Christmas, my son came home, to have me repair his car, and brought my birthday present early. (Ya, in a month I'll be able to get those senior citizen discounts.) He got me the Gunslinger Girl series. Also, all those parts I ordered from NewEgg came, I hope to have my new computer on line this weekend. :D
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

My mother bought me all four Human Crossing DVDs. I've always been interested in series that seem to fall just below the radar so to speak (such as Boogiepop Phantom, Kino's Journey and Now and Then, Here and There), so I was looking forward to Human Crossing after reading a positive review for it at AnimeOnDVD.com. Unfortunately, I found it very disappointing. The episodes on the first two discs are mediocre at best and laughably bad at worst. The episodes on discs three and four are considerably better, but still nothing special. All in all, it's a forgettable series that I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

On a side note, I may never trust a review from AnimeOnDVD.com again. The person who reviewed Human Crossing gave the content on every DVD a score of B+. I think he confused the novelty of watching something different from the anime norm with good storytelling. Personally, I would rate the content on the first two DVDs in the D range, I would probably give the content on the third DVD a rating of C+, and I would probably give the fourth DVD a B- for content.
Time makes all things possible. I can wait.
