Im too afraid to watch the IY Dub, Im in absolute love with the series (of course being in Japane now has its advantage in that respect aswell) and I dont want to ruin a good thing. Regarding voice actors, Inu Yasha's Japanese voice actor is actually the same guy who plays Ranma from Ranma 1/2. I guess Takahashi Rumiko was really happy with the guy the first time around.
Regarding the DVDs, Yeah, I hope they come out more slowly from now on. Why? Because I own 4 of region 2 DVDs already and I want to brag about it for a bit longer Actually, I bought those so I could make my newest vid, and the quality is stunning. You will all get to see that in another month or so (its finished, but Im not going to make my final print until Im stateside.. sorry ^_^)
Anywho, regarding IY dub, yeah, they are coming out real fast arent they now? Ive been watching the stuff on the CN website. Its too bad really, now its going to become all popular. I was into the series since the day episode 1 was fansubed... now I dont even need fansubs to watch it.
Also, an interesting note about the Japanese release manga, its not done yet. That just means that the anime cant finish either. Every month Takahashi Rumiko releases another volume (its now at like 28 or something like that) so it looks like the TV series will just go on until infinitum.
Its spelled "Kikyou" btw
Miroku always sounds serious even though hes pervy in the Jap version as well. How many of you are firmiliar with the original voices anyway?

Yes, I am, but I don't think Miroku sounds as serious. Well, sometimes he doesn't. I watched up to 92 of the fansubs, and I noticed that we were mispelling Kikyou, sorry about that. No edit buttons here. When I heard that it was on Adult Swim, I was really happy, so I started watching the dubs, and they aren't that bad. I mean, the love scenes are pretty wrecked, but other than that...
Well, Richard Ian Cox does Inuyasha's English voice.

And apparently they brought back the old Ranma 1/2 voice aswell. Keeping that trend adds an interesting little story to an already interesting casting choice. Too bad I will NEVER watch it dubed. -_-

It doesn't ruin the series, yeesh. You can watch it and just poke fun at the awful dub. Besides, the only really AWFUL voices in the dub are Kaede (WTF is up with that mideival accent?), The guy that controls the Onis, Kikyou (her voice is too deep) and that's about it. I think Naraku's voice is pretty good, though.

Have they introduced Rin yet, she has an ultra cute voice in the Japanese version. Does Jakken sound as retarded as he does in the Japanese version? I never liked Shippos voice actress, howd she turn out in English? How about Kouga?Double O Ninety wrote:It doesn't ruin the series, yeesh. You can watch it and just poke fun at the awful dub. Eck, Jakken sounds like he's going through puberty. It is pretty retarded. Also, it's only up to around episode twenty on cartoon network so Rin isn't even there yet. She does have a cute voice, though. Shippo sounds pretty cute in the English one, I suppose. I don't know, there's nothing special about his voice. How long have you been in Japan?Ashton wrote: Have they introduced Rin yet, she has an ultra cute voice in the Japanese version. Does Jakken sound as retarded as he does in the Japanese version? I dont know about fansubs, I just know what I read off the region 2 DVD boxes. Nevermind.Double O Ninety wrote:Ashton, the subbed version on DVD spells Kikyou as "Kikyo" and that's why I'm confused. Plus, different fansubs spell it differently. So I suppose it doesn't matter.
Ive been in Japan for 4 months now.
