Im sorry, I didnt answer the question. The answer is this: Why are there so many Evangelion fanboys? How about Trigun? How about Cowboy Bebop.
In my opinion CBBB and Trigun are on the same par with Inu Yasha, while Evangelion doesn't even compare. Its just a matter of the fact that Inu Yasha has the animation style of the average anime movie every week in a TV series. It does everything that has ever been done well in an anime, and does it well (this is all IMHO of course.) The point is that its a simple matter of opinion. I like it. I just so happen to like it enough to have a keychain on a my backpack and a poster on my wall from that particular series. Does that make me a "fandboy"?
Not by my standards, my standards would be somebody who owns *everything* or *nearly everything* that has to do with IY.
