Re: Little DBZ left in all of us...
Why did I Have to grow up with it? it wasn't even created yet or played on TV when I was growing upM1r wrote:Well I made this for one reason only. I'm sick of people dissing Dragonball Z when it was the no.1 anime that you HAD to grow up with, if you didn't you must have an issue lol. Now this is the question...who STILL has dbz left in them, sleepin' in a hidden place, deep inside your mind? cuz i definitely do. I grew up with DBZ lol.
Astro boy mmmm now THAT is what you should grow up with... if only we had a TV back then, only rich families had TVs when I was a kid so i'd sneak over to a friends house and watch astro.
DBZ and sailor moon were more my little sister's era... and she's 9 years younger than me so yeahh.."when I was a young whipper snapper blah blah"
new banzors in the making :p

I was a big fan of DBZ until Naruto came about. Naruto > Bleach > DBZ. Freiza saga fight went on way too long... WAY TOO LONG. I liked the intensity of the Android and Cell saga, my favourite arcs, started to get tired of DBZ after the Fat Buu part, then I saw it again just for Vegetto the best character in the entire thing. DBGT sucks. I think one of the main reasons why I liked DBZ is because of Bruce Faulconer's adaption of the BGM. The original Japanese version had some really shit music but Bruce gave more emotion to an otherwise fight1-fight2 anime through good music. All the DBZ movies sucked except History of Trunks and Bardock. Watched History of Trunks like 10x through many years ago But yeah the animation is too out of date for my tastes these days. Also when I was a child I didn't notice these, but now when I watch the dub I really understand the cheesy and corny lines in the dialogue =|

I find a lot of DBZ fans look back upon the show now and realize it wasn't exactly the greatest thing since slice bread as they thought it was when they were younger. Hell, I'm one of those fans who couldn't wait to run home, turn on Toonami at 4, 5, getting ready to see some flashing lights and screaming men. Granted I really hated when Toonami would start the series ALL over again in between fights so many damned times. I mean, you're there in the Frieza arc and you come the next day to see Raditz
One thing I did take note of back in the day was, fights would last for a good 20 episodes and when they actually DO develop the plot, they spend ONE episode and skip like 2 years ahead into the future as if to say, "you're not here for the story so let's just go by that real quick." But in conclusion, DBZ did what it did and it garnered a lot of fans, it was basically the stepping stone for many into the world of anime to discover the really good treasures. Although I saw Dragonball first and considered that hilarious.

I think DBZ may have cost me brain cells growing up.
I didn't think anime had the potential for love stories and other serious concepts, until I saw Record of Lodoss War and Ah My Goddess...
Ronin Warriors [Yoroiden for teh picky] was my favorite action anime simply because Lady Kyra was sexy. DBZ had me feeling like the show was made for people who loved staring at ugly muscled naked men after I saw Lady Kyra kicking asses...

I didn't know boobies were allowed in anime til I watched Tenjho Tenge....DBZ had very little bewbalidge. I hate Akira for that. Though Bulma was totally doing the loli-slut role well during the dragonball days....
Puff-puff anyone?
(yes, I know it was oolong, but Bulma so let him do it when no-one was around....>_>...She also totally offered her ass to Gokou when they first met! He was 10! she was 16!! RIIIGHTTT ON GOOOKOUUU)

Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.
There's nothing to worry about.
