yes, it was dubbed for the US, but it was released by japan in 1960 Toei Animation.

another funny thing about alakazam the great is that parental unit number one says he flat out hates anime, with the exception of alakazam the great, which he saw when he was 6 years old, and has liked ever since.

There were a couple of anime that were dubbed as part of the 'Force Five' block that showed in the late 70's and early 80's (when I was a kid) that I thought were pretty cool. Pity I can't remember what the anime they originally started out as were called...
