You need to watch the FMP series just so you can get to Fumoffu and enjoy it to its fullest.

Black Lagoon (great series... but you need to watch Cowboy Bebop first IMO)
Claymore (Chicks with swords)
Elfen Lied (Modern series version of Akira)
Flame of Recca (Old and very much like DBZ)
Genshiken (Fun little comedy series... something a little different)
Full Metal Alchemist (Brothers with alchemy powers)
GetBackers (I think this one is highly under rated... give it a shot... action and stuff)
Hellsing Ultimate (If you've seen the Hellsing series... make sure you've seen these OVAs)
History's Strongest Disciple (Awesome comedy martial arts series)
Last Exile (Worth it for the animation. Decent story)
Maburaho (funny as hell series with magic and stuff... really short)
Lovely Complex (One of my favorite romance series... and I don't like many)
Soul Eater (Fun animation with a unique action/shinigami story line)
