Or just enjoy yourself and not care what people think about you? If it's just vacation who cares?

Guys we're just talking in circles, this discussion is going no where.

=O there was a point to this discussion?? lol im kidding =P

as for me, i dont really have a japanese "obsession" (except for anime). i dont go around making my room look like some traditional japanese home or anything. i pretty much just appreciate them and their culture

to be honest i would love to travel to japan and its probably because of anime. i would definitely see akihabara and stuff. yes i would also travel to a bunch of other places like wander around hokkaido, see the tokyo tower and other stuff but i think my main reason would be about anime. the japanese may not like it but what the hey =)

Well yeah of course I'd go to Akiba, but I'd also love to go to Kyoto and check out some shrines and temples and stuff, and Okinawa. I also want to climb Mount Fuji. Tallest mountain I ever climbed was in the Adirondacks.

No you didn't. The British did. Is your country so pathetic that the only thing you can brag about is actually something a bunch of limeys did?

Technically Canada is British, we're still part of the British Empire and it was the British Army and Canadian Militia (both fighting for Canada) that captured and burned the lighthouse. Silly Americans think they won the war... ahem no they didn't, nobody won.

American Goal for war of 1812 was to conquer Canada, that failed.
Canadian Goal = defence of Canada, that worked out.

Canada didn't gain anything so we admit to not winning, the Americans gained nothing, they simply got back the land that WE took from them AFTER the war started.

Neither side got anything, the war was a waste of time. People died for no reason (much like most wars). The Americans were the bad guys this time.

The war was foguht on North America by the Canadian Militia with soldiers sent from Great Britain, it was still technically the Canadian Military.

Put simply, we burned the White House.

And no, not half french, only 23%.
