evangelion ran out of money and couldn't finish the series. They used rpevious scenes, and still pictures with voices and a lot of other horrible crap to make the last couple of episodes to finish up the series.

Death and rebirth are like episodes, they're what the creators would have liked the last two episodes to be like. So you could really just consider tem the actual last two episodes of the series.

The movie, like all other anime movies is based off the naime and best viewed after you've seen the whole thing. And since death and rebirth are like true episodes, it's best to watch the whole series, death and rebirth, then the movie. If you watch any diffrent, it just makes a confusing anime more confusing.
None of the endings that they have given us for Eva are anymore than Pshycobabble. Who cares how much money you spend on stupidity if the ending is stupid. After the wierdness starts the entertainment value of the series is nil. Gainax's greatest work is out now It's called Mahoromatic and it is 50 billion times the anime eve ever was.

As the director of evangelion Hideaki Anno said "if you can't understand Evangelion, It's your problem"

I nderstand it, but it IS a confusing anime. Lots of people have this problem, and the series, reath and rebirth, the movie are the best steps for these people to take to not cause further confusion.

...now let me add the message I meant to put in there...stupid buttons. :p

Jace, you're incorrect. End of Evangelion is composed of the two "true" final episodes.

As I've stated before, Death & Rebirth are nothing more than a digest version of the TV series told from different characters' POVs and the first 30 minutes of EoE.

and if you happen to have the good fortune of being friends with someone who has devoted years of their life to studying the same things... well... it's an added bonus.

You'd be amazed at how many things in that show mean something...

It adds to the complexity of the show.

I have to agree with you, i think that Evangelion needs to be in a diferent category from all the other series around. Like you said after you finish watching it, U have to watched again, and every time you see it, u discover something new or u understand it diferently; and thats because the story is so complex that when the series ends not everybody will understand it the same way and according to the way that the person feels and interpret things will have a message.

most anime movies are like that, it doesn't change the fact it is a movie. Just like Gundam Wing EW. On the dvd you can watch the OVAs or the movie made for domestic distribute.

The two eipisodes that compose the movie are just like OVAs. It's still a movie to an extent.

Well, that's fine. But my point, Jace, is that Death & Rebirth are not the final two episodes as you stated. EoE is, and yes, EoE is really comprised of what could be called two episodes. It even has the eyecatches in the middle of each one.

:? I'm so tired....so very, very tired.

EVA is probably one of the best anime's ever made. I hope one day you will be able to understand it and enjoy its brilliance.

I thought that the TV ending was the true ending of Eva, being what Anno wanted, and that EoE was the "fan's ending." This is where I get that info from.
