Whaaaaat? I thought they did a good job with the story...

Spam? it was a comment on the fact that I've seen this thread so many times, round and round we go...
Why don't you reserve judgement on the movie when it comes out instead of building up a ferocious tidal wave of negativity that will only destroy what you WILL see in the movie? You're gearing up for a failure, rather than a success. Why worry about details? does it change anything that will come? When you say, "By all definitions, since this story isn't anime and wasn't supervised by Anno, and, in fact was made by the lowest bidder" without having seen the movie itself, you're condemning the thing before you ever knew it. That sounds pretty stereotypical. That's like hating someone because they're black, without knowing that they're much cooler than you could hope to imagine. How can you condemn something you haven't seen or experienced?

I know that this will probably be seen as flaming. I see it as an opportunity to ask valid questions. I prefer to wait and see with my own eyes. If it sucks, believe me, I'll be the first on the threads with an opinion. The same goes if it rocks. But not until then. Yall have a good day.

I guess in retrospect mitsukai212 is right, although I still think the hobbits looked youngish especially merry, pip and frodo.

The other thing is, maybe this post is pointless maybe it isn't, but what's to decide whether or not a post is pointless, maybe the people who are making this movie are looking at posts like these to see what fans are saying and how they are thinking and so maybe it will influence the outcome of the movie. Even if this is not the case speculation is a big part of the enjoyment people get from forums and who knows if your right about something its recorded so you can look back and say tadaa!! Most of all though I think that even the people who are negative about the chances for this movie deep-down inside hope it will be a good one and so hence the speculation continues...

We can't be so bothered by the changes in this movie. It's not Eva. It's a movie interpretation of Eva. Eva itself is made of interpretations. It is an anime series and a manga series, two different interpretations of the same story and yet no one seems to be making a huge fuss about that.

It's like LOTR. You can only fit so much in three movies due to time and budget. It's not LOTR. LOTR is a novel. The movie is simply an interpretation of the book.

Another example...the Harry Potter films are an interpretation of the Harry Potter books.

I think it's kinda silly to expect a film interpretation to be a match to the original especially if it is being run by someone OTHER then the original creator.

Despite what I said I think that Cyanna makes a good point.

With all adaptations there is a thin line to walk and I think that for this movie the line will be even thinner (sorry I still want a blue-haired Rei).
