Oh don't get me wrong, the mechs were really awesome, but the movie was terrible. So if I minipulate the scenes properly, I should make it look halfway decent.

You know how I started the old thread. Well I finally bought a series, Zeta gundam which another friend of mine recommended me. He said it got him into anime when he was living in japan when he was young. So thanks for your recommendations too. I proabably also get gundam wing, because I usually like a lot of political stuff in a story line. Thanks!

Warning now...yes, Zeta is good, but you might want to give the original Mobile Suit Gundam a go before you look into it. In part because several of the characters in Zeta are returning members of the original MSG cast and, to that end, their appearance kind of loses something if you're not familiar with the backstory (this is especially the case concerning one of the AEUG's ace pilots...for the sake of keeping it a surprise, I won't name names, but chances are if you see MSG first, you'll piece it together pretty quickly... ...a lot quicker than most of his companions did anyways.

I am about on episode ten and I relealized this, because I saw some of the orginal on CN. I wanted to get the orginal first, but I heard that it was not fully released here because Gundam Wing came out here first and people loved it, and then when they started releasing the orginal here the people that saw that did not like it due to its 80's animation. That's just what I heard, i think form a con once, and I am a dubbed person so, unless there is a dubbed version chances are slim (not impossible) that I will watch it.

Sounds like a breakdown in communications here. Yeah, MSG got a cold shoulder thanks to Wing's being run here first, but that didn't stop the release...just the airing on CN (...plus 9/11 threw a wrench into that as well)

There's one of two ways to approach the original:

10-disc original TV series, English dub only
or
3-disc movie trilogy, subtitled

(...their reasoning behind this is that Bandai USA got some bad copies of the Japanese audio for the series...the movies are a redone Japanese language track, so they circumvented that one)

I am more of a series peron and I usually watch anime dubbed, that might change after my japanese class though, but is it really awful? The dubbing. I heard the Sailor moon one on CN was so that is why I am asking. Oh an also a site that sells inexpensivly. Thanks!

The dub was horrid for SM up to S, then Pioneer took over. They did a better job, but they still had the CN contract, so there's some to be expected there.

But they didn't cut the video.
