I think that's a little unfair. Gainax released the show years ago and have gone back to remaster it. You don't HAVE to buy it

As for what this does for rights in the west... I have no idea. ADV can afford it but would have a damn hard time selling it to people who bought the "Perfect Collection" ^^

well if they don't come out in the US then I'll just go, get the japanese import, and if need be mux in the dubs/subs myself if need be. And depending on my mood distro the VOB's over hte net to those who want them...

I wonder what they'd call it. I mean you can get much more "ultimate" or whatnot than "Perfect." Then again, US movies ALWAYS do this with Special Edition, Special Edition Remastered, Ultimate Edition, etc.

Well the way I see it, I don't think it's gonna come out here. Most "normal" movies can do this because there is a big enough market to make "another" Star Wars edition or whatnot. As for anime...not that big of a market. I guess we'll have to wait till the end of the con season (probably around September) to know for sure. Most companies announce their acquisitions at ACen, A-kon, AX, Fanime or Otakon.

you know as well as i do, its not gona happen any time soon, were gona wait, and wait and wait...then after 3 years of waiting it will happen, then just after we buy it, gainax will say 'Oh yes, ermm, we forgot one little thing......' thats the way the world works
