That'spart of why I love her. She's sort of in the process of "waking up" emotionally, and I'd love to be a part of that and be there for her. I'm currently in the process of having my emotions shut down, and it's something that I want to stop. I think that being around her when the shit hits the fan might help me wake up as well.

well as far as this topic goes i think i could handle being around hikari more than the others. my life is already shit and i dont think that some one like rei would help. and i dont know anyone like hikari for that matter but then again all the girls in my area are all upity bitches whos parents buy them new cars for the hell of it.
If you want to find something in which rei really comes around more then i suggest reading the eva fanfic "The One I Love Is..." it covers the last half of eva and is really good and accuret.

Seriously, Hikari?! Oh well, i guess the other girls are a little too extreme for most people's taste. Though, if i was to seriously choose one of the Eva girls, it would be have to be Maya (i think thats her name) the Nerv officer working in Terminal Dogma. I mean think about it, she's smart, good with computers, has a good senese of morals and of course, is still pretty hot
