That's funny. At my band's practice yesterday, I must have dropped about 3 sticks, but the only person that showed up was my brother :(

the saddest moment of all is in the last episode(112) of yu yu hakusho when yusuke had been gone for 3 years and keiko is at the beach and she begins to cry and screams "YUSUKE!!!! YOU STUPID IDIOT!!!!! COME BACK!!!!!!" but of course it gets happy again really fast when yusuke just appears and in the calmest voice says "hey im back" and then the theme song plays and kuwabara, yukina, botan, yusuke, and keiko all go have a splash fight.

also in pokemon when ash lets butterfree go. I cried (i was 9 at the time but thats beside the point)

and i dont think it was that sad when wolfwood died in trigun episode 23 because the long speech leading up to it just made it the absolute most moving moment i have ever seen in an anime
you know what i hate? toonami on cartoon network. you see(if any of you watch yu yu hakusho u will understand) yu yu hakusho is a show where the stuff not apropriate for kids is in very small quantity, but its important to the plot and cant be edited. Chu for instance is a fighter who drinks alcohol and gets more powerful off of that alcohol. I HATE TOONAMI!!!!

saddest moments

Eva - Shinji forced to kill Kaworu
Trigun- Vash kills Legato (the amount of emotion forced into that one scene) Wolfwoods death, very moving
Akira- Tetsuo being drawn into that huge ball of light, and the scenes that come afterwards
Blue Gender - When that little girl just gets trampled down by the blue
Nadesico- Guy's death, thebest character died!

Nuff said.
Damn...beat me to it. I have yet to see (in real movies too) scenes sadder than Setsuko's death. In particular, the part where she is dying and offers her brother the mud as food and the recap of the happier moments of her life (all those cute scenes like her with a pan on her head, etc.). That was just a kick in the nuts to show all those cute scenes while she was being cremated :(. Damn Cataclysm, now I'm sad :( :( :(

I agree to a degree. I don't think it was great, but at the same time I didn't think it was at all sad. It was a decision you knew he had to make from the start of the show. Shows where the character has vowed not to kill will have him reach a crossroad where he is put in that position. I think Wolfwood's death was quite a bit sadder, but at the same time not since he redeems himself.

At the same time (no offense btw), I don't think it holds a candle to GotF.

and i was expecting something from VOE

Just watched Gunbuster (again for the nth time), Smith dying, that was fairly sad also at the end, when they reach earth and find no lights are on (economic people), that was sad (the only scene to ever bring tears to my eyes), the fact that theyre the last two humans, that theyre sacrifice was in vain very sad

Actually I found the ending of Evangelion (both TV and movie) quite uplifting. If you watlked away feeling sad, I think you missed the point and what happened at the ending altogether.

Well in all honesty, I didn't find that many scenes sad in Escaflowne. I love the show, but even the sad scenes don't hold a candle to the things being mentioned and my choice (GotF). If anything, there are tons of scenes in that make me smile and are uplifting like Episode 24 when Vaughn comes back to Hitomi, Episode 26 when they say goodbye, etc. I do see why you would've thought I'd say something though since I'm a freak about the show :)

Slayers next-When lina wakes up and starts crying because gourry is not there. Several other scenes in various slayers episodes.

Urusei yatsura-When Ataru really lays a verbal smackdown of stupidity on lum and chases her off and she disapears.

Arc the lad when you see what happened to the holy mother girl. Do not let the looks of this anime or it's videogame tie in fool you it is really worth watching.
