Some anime fans embarass me as well. But Im not too much embarrassed by Anime. And I really dont care if anyone knows I like Anime and I generally tell people that I like anime to see if they like it as well so I can make new anime friends. And sometimes Im even able to get people into anime like me. 8)

I'm a bit embaressed by anime.
Either A.)People think I'm immature for watching cartoons (and the unfortunate reputation anime has for being cheezy)
or
B.)They think I'm a perv and that I'm addicted to hentai.
Once a kid in my study hall showed some interest in a manga that I was reading and (I was quite happy to find a fellow anime fan) I started rambling on about it and got excited that I finally had someone to talk to about anime and the like. Then I realized he was totally jerking my chain (I felt very smart).

I don't like reading manga at school...namely because I hate people looking over my shoulder and asking me why I'm reading a book backward. I've gotten a few weird reactions when I tell people I like anime (I'm a classic-lit-and-opera-music kinda girl) but no one's ever been mean about it...and even if they were, I don't think I'd give a damn 'cause it's something I enjoy. Why should you be embarassed of something you really like?

I'm not embarassed, but there are two rules I follow.
1. They have to ask. What kind of introduction is it if I walk up and say "Hi, I watch anime,"? I think that seems rather stupid.
2. I don't watch it around people that are/could be offended by what is on the screen. Like the whole on the train thing...I would avoid watching Hellsing or something like that.

anime doesn't make me embarrassed, although the question "does anime embarrass you?" doesn't really apply well to me. half the people at my school think i can't speak, and most other people are afraid to talk to me (apparently i look and sound somewhat insane), so i don't share opinions with anyone.

I watch anime, tell my friends i watch anime and tell them they should watch it too since we always talk about how shitty all the sitcoms are now, and the good ol days of classic simpsons and seinfeld.
On a note, most of us have been good friends for many years now and we are in gr11 highschool.
Some of the guys mock me abuot it but when they do, oh man do they get burned. Mainly cuz its a guy in our "group" thats fat, and everytime he says something to me I go on an intire burning-rave on his ass, and it gets funnier each time. So he doesnt bring it up anymore, its just funny tho.

Lmao...I go to a Catholic school. A few weeks ago I was looking for one of my friends and when I walked into the classroom he was hanging out in I saw that he was watching HELLSING on his portable DVD player. In school. In a classroom. While the teacher was chilling a few feet away.billy_wires wrote:I'm not embarassed, but there are two rules I follow.

It was funny.
If that isn't fearless anime pride, I don't know what is.
