Anime sucks.

OK children, guess i'll have to come in again and explain things to you. Even if the point of this topic was flame bait, it is still mostly true. Most anime does suck, sorry, but its the truth. Most of the bad stuff isnt seen though, because no one bothers to send it out of Japan. So anything you see thats been brought over is atleast above average.
See, theres a very simple analogy to explain it all. Anime is almost an exact parrallel to american movies and TV shows. The vast majority of them suck and are unorginal recycled crap thats been seen a million times before, and then you have a select few that a lot of care and work went into and are very good and are always remembered. Just cause its anime, does in no way make it great. Thinking all anime is great is just has obsurd and close minded has thinking all animation is for children, its jsut another extreme veiw. Theres nothing to be ashamed by admitting some anime sucks OK. A lot of you seem to be defending what you like, wich is understandable, you dont want to be associated with something you think is bad, but what you have to realize that is anime is a pretty broad catagory and liking one part doesnt mean liking another. Its like saying just cause your into sci fi movies, you must also be into romance movies, because theyre both types of movies. I know some people think this way because a lot of anime fans are so pasionately against anime like Pokemon and DBZ, sometimes going has far has saying they arent even anime.
Speaking of Pokemon and DBZ, I might has well adress this to since theyve been brought up so much in this thread. Pokemon and DBZ are anime, and they aren't bad either, they are what they are supose to be. I dont imagine many of you watch Blues Clues, but that doesnt make it a bad show, its just not for older audiences, and its not trying to tell a big story or anything, its just simple entertainment for an audience that likes that. Same with stuff like DBZ and Pokemon. If you want a really bad anime, look for one that tried to be something but failed. That wanted to be funny but wasnt, that wanted to exciting but wasnt. Those are what bad movies or anime.

Yes, it is your opinion that anime sucks. But there is a difference between what really is bad, and what you think sucks. Be fair. Also, your opinion should be, "I think anime sucks". Not just "anime sucks".
