detective conan - 323 eps this month
and *groans* hamtaro - 152 eps this month
those are long one playing now in japan or at least a few of them

And heres two from the past
kimagure orange road - 48 eps plus 8 ovas and two movies
nadia - 39 eps

from what i've seen and I may be wrong but it seems that they animate a popular manga for a seasion maybe two then drop it when a new manga becomes popular. but my friends the manga lives on. (sometimes)
