I think it is two sided now. We aren't waiting for others to post. Eh I don't think there are that many on anyways. I'll end up gettin sailormoon sooner or later for the fact that I wouldn't be a true fanboy without it. But I have heard of a live action gundam series but I have to look into it more. As for animation, there's big leaps and bounds every century. I am sure come 2010 we'll see a whole new line of anime that is completely mind blowing. I'm hoping that the anime is good though.

That means we are living up to the title of the thread. We really must be obsessed anime fans. Technology may get better and but even if visually it's mind blowing it's not much without a good storyline and good characters. Even though someone told me in another thread that people don't care about storylines and characters as long as it looks good. That's sad. And don't worry, I love talking to you.older_gohan wrote:I think it is two sided now. We aren't waiting for others to post.

Good stuff. The same goes with me as well ^_^And don't worry, I love talking to you.
As for that other part. Anyone that says the visual aspect is all that matters has never met a macross fan. I'm sorry but visually macross sucks compared to now. True back when it came out it was the best there was but compare to now it's absolutely nothing.
However I will religiously watch that anime as long as I live. I love the story and the characters. Minus Minmei of course. Plot has everything to do with how much I like anime. It may not be the case for all but for me it's gotta have the attention getter that makes you think. I mean lets take a anime like Ghost in the Shell. Well get specific and say GITS 2. The anime itself is very visually astounding, but action wise it's not like most others. In fact the action doesn't come out at all save towards the end. What killed me was the plot depth and the character development. That movie kept me thinking throughout the whole thing.
I mean come on that kid was ignorant. It's the same thing I go with AMV's. It has to have some kind of story line basis or plot basis to have the AMV interesting enough.
I just vented o_<
Either way Plot and Character depth and development have everything to do with a good strong anime.

I have to admit though sometimes I watched DBZ just for the mindless fighting. I love the bright animation but I don't think it ever had a good strong plotline. There was some character depth but compared to other animes...well you can't really compare one anime to the other. They are all equally important to someone. AMV's too. Sometimes, I hate to admit, I download them just for the song and the video itself is really bad. Some are interesting though as I've posted like 10 of them in the Sailor Moon section of Recommended AMV's.

Yeah teh sensless beating of people into mountains and such kind of make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :3
I am sure the visual appeal is great, especially with animes like samurai champloo and cowboy bebop. Some AMV's i will watch cause the words and the video goes so well together. Like 'One Anime Week' i love cause it's just plain funny.
Each anime has it's thing that hits's viewers. Some animes have all three major aspects making them awsome all around.
Steamboy is one I haven't been able to shake off as a truly amazing anime. But what can you expect from someone who created the classic Akira.
