ok heres the deal. Some animes are directed at children, like pokemon (shudder). Other animes are directed at teens like FMA.
What the kiddies watch I, myself consider "cartoons"
what we watch is 100% anime.

So with that logic The Adventures of Mini Goddess are cartoons. In Japan they were aimed at young children(probably 5-10 year olds) and in the US they have an age rating of 13+(?). With your resoning aplied its a cartoon in because it is aimed at children in Japan.

I never did understand why you cann't enjoy a show just because of the target age group. I'm 25 and I still enjoy watching Magical Project S(US age rating 3+) and many others. Just ignore what others think and continue watching the show you like.

People can call anime cartoons all they want, It won't bother me too much. But when someone says that anime is all porn, or only for kids, that pisses me the hell off. When you see a human explodes due to intense levels of gamma radiation, then it's not for kids. When you see poke'mon, then its for kids. And there is a difference between seeing a girls' panties, and seeing her getting screwed by 10+ tentacle dicks. Call it anime or cartoons, I dont care. But people should at least use their freakin eyes when trying to tell age ratings.

at the age of 16 I recognize in a subliminal way how people
tease me and us in general just because of the simple fact
we follow and watch a culture coming out of japan.
and moreover, It's like that:
the people are told to react in that way, they stick to rules,
take negative examples (aka hentai) as the general form.
they don't care about finding out how the true looks
like.
Or take the other extreme: they watch pokemon. the same.

I face these prejudices every time at school. people I'm not into
either say 'pervert' or 'kindskopp' (supposed to be a little shitty
kid-adult).
therefore I had an idea: though I don't care what the majority
thinks about me the way they think about anime matters to me.
so instead of just taking the abuse I tried to do sth against it:
I slowly transform into some kind of comic-messiah
I try to inform people about the true nature of comics in general
and manga or anime especially.
cause of this I already hold several presentations at school where I chose my topic individually.
though holding a long presentation the prejudices are still in the heads of
most of the people:
For example:
I did a presentation for 'Progressive Comics' (mainly about manga and anime). after it most people said nothing or just pointed out
that they are not into comics because they are abstracted and eased.

COMICS ARE NOT EASED AT ALL!!!

they are just a new individual form of art. no kid's stuff at all.
but the prejudices are so sticked to people's brains,
they just won't come out. It's like the glue of
the majority.

but I won't stop trying. I think that this is a duty of every animaniac
out here. even if you're dispaired, try sth.
We can take this so-called glue together with the prejudices
out of people's heads if we try hard enough!

you know you're right, we could try and get the point out to ppl to diversify their view on anime/manga. Some are gonna listen,(friends, young relatives, etc.) and some are gonna argue the point we try to make and make idiotic comments but, when they say that they really mean, "OH, LOOK AT ME I'M A FREAKING HOMO THAT HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO BESIDES MOCKING PEOPLE AND THIER INTRESTS! DUUUUUUHHHH." I just stick with people who have the same intrests as me. Frankly, I don't give a crap about what people think of me and what I do. Though I do hate when they call either, porn or a dumb three-year-old cartoon show with dancing bears and retarded singers. It makes me want to slap the F*** outta the person who said it but, if we lived in a world like that. Anime/Manga fans would probably rule the freaking world.
