hmm. i think that would go under anime screencaps in the final fantasy section. on a lesser note i agree wit nerdstrudel. although i never techniquely beat the game all the way through (up til the last disc then played with a friends memory card on the last boss battle). i think the only significance of ffvii was that it made a thousand geeks cry. and the differ datin and chocobo matin. other than that, i like viii better (my opinion).

I thought he broke that barrier in the game after Tifa helped him in the Lifestream in Mideel? He did seem to open up a little more then, like when he and Tifa were waiting for the others just before entering the Northern Cave. I could see him smiling when everyone showed up in the Highwind just as he and Tifa were about to take on Sephiroth for the last time.IronLynx wrote: for the record, Cloud's personality is to hide as much emotion as possable. that's why it's such a big step for him when he actually smiles at the end of the movie.
It does when there is no explination at the end. Hell, they never said anything about Yuffie and there she was there hopping around holding all that materia. And did they explain materia? No. They based the damn movie against people having played the game and played on those assumptions.plumbcrzy wrote:and look man u should never ask who the characters are cause u are always told who they are later in the movie so that question should never cross your mind in any movie
And don't forget Rufus. I don't remember them ever saying his name or saying why he was in the state he was (wrapped in the hoodie in a wheelchair)
I agree fully. FFVII had one thing really, Sephiroth. When he took out Aeris it was a shocker for many (regretfully, I saw that sequence in a strategy guide before even buying the game) and that drove everyone to seek revenge. Before then, the game was average. I still dread going to North Corel and The Gold Saucer. Worst part of the game. Disk one actually doesn't get good until you go to the Temple of the Ancients.8bit_samrai wrote:other than that, i like viii better (my opinion)
FFVIII had something more, pure emotion. You had this guy, just an average guy, get shoved into a predicament he had to take charge of, though he didn't want to. To make matters worse, he had to worry about this young and very attractive girl who was not just his foil, but his gateway out of his melencholy and submissive state of living and learn to fight. I stil get goosebumps when watching the "Eyes on Me" sequence on the Ragnarok on disk 3.
If there should be a game made into either a movie or remake, it should be FFVIII.

seem we agree on a quite a bit of things. strangeKrisqo wrote:8bit_samrai wrote:other than that, i like viii better (my opinion)
i was reluctant to play it at first. when i heard it made a thousand geeks cry, i guess thats what made me play it. i got all the way to the last disc tryna figure what it was. once i found out i already past it i was kinda dissappointed and amused. although when i saw aeris die, i was surprised, never thought it would be this part. but also at the same time afterwards, i was kinda, uhh, glad she did. out the party i had, up to that point, she was one of my weakest characters. so at the time i thought i dont hafta level her up. i ended up playin quite a bit of times jus to get differ dates at the saucer and see what else could turn out different.Krisqo wrote:I agree fully. i agree with this as well. i think vii stole all the flame bein the first one bein on the psone. viii is an underdog, ix, i never heard much about or played, but it seems it would get some kinda attention bein the last ff on the psone or somethin. it seems x almost got the same kinda attention, bein the first on the ps2, since it got the first sequel in final fantasy. im almost done wit it, along wit my other ff games, with this trend im waitin to see what kinda stuff gonna happen wit ffxiii and see if xii will suffer the same as ix, or somethin.Krisqo wrote:If there should be a game made into either a movie or remake, it should be FFVIII.

to be honest, if the gameplay in FFVIII wasn't so irritating, it would be my favorite also. Reducing your stats everytime u use your good spells, and having to keep swapping aeons is such a pain in the arse.
that said, FFVII had another thing going for it. The simple yet strangely complex theme they gave to the story. life.
so to recap.
FFVII= best enemy ever, and a better theme
FFVIII= better characters in general, and a better story overall.
