Chrono had to be the most poetic ending I've ever seen in an anime. I felt more sorrow for those who lived than those who died.

RahXephon had a good ending (but not that God-awful POS movie version), but I think my favorite ending was Full Metal Panic. Comforting in its simplicity. If you're talking about pure sugary endings then Card Captor Sakure: The Sealed Card.

My favorite ending is either the end of Mai Hime or the first Naruto movie. I really like happy endings. <_<

For me it's definitely the end of Cowboy Bebop, The Real Folk Blues Pt 2. It brings a tear every time and that's the only anime I've ever cried from.

Hell Girl's ending [the one from Two Prisoners], 2nd series

Mai Hime. Cliched but it's doing that cause it's good and I don't tire from cliches that easily

Please Teacher. Can't beat an ending that is surrounded by mom & wife sex0rs

Gasaraki. Love it. Way better than any recent or mecha anime done before it for me.

Nadesico. Ah, the moment all anime is UNKNOWN for, the VISUAL onscreen kiss [almost always shown in hentai, maybe it's cause on screen kissing is 'taboo'?]

Ai Yori Aoshi. Classic ending, never live it down, ever...

Boys Be. Epic. May not be LotR or StarWars epic, but man, BEAUTIFULLY poetic in BOTH dub and sub. Best blend of comedy, story, development, and fanservice.

I guess...

Any anime that makes you feel 'glad' that you saw it and 'glad' it's over [in a good way] is a good ending for me.

Oh yeah Mai-Hime. Otome I think was stretching the bill way too much...
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

Any series where most of the major characters are dead. Bebop is a good example, if a little scant on the should have died.

and if i didn't say it yet, 3x3 Eyes had a good ending.

Much as I agree the Kushans would make it awesome, I'll be honest...I'm already going ahead with what we have (Chuder works well enough)

Orwell -- If you get the chance, check out Space Runaway Ideon...in particular the movies. That's considered one of the quintessential 'Let's kill EVERYONE' endings (and they do mean everyone. I think the baby is the only one spared an on-screen death.)
