Trigun - Mixes comedy, action, and drama seemlessly into one show.
Evangelion - Confusing as hell but kept me watching through the whole
thing.
FLCL - Wackyness times ten. Mixes many types of animation into a show
that defines comedy.
Azumanga Daioh - Still new to me but funny as hell. Deals with semi-real
topics with a twist. Just what anime needs. Now only
if it were here in the US...

I'd have to say FLCL. My favorite all time SERIES is Violinist of Hameln. Not the TV show. That show makes me grumpy. They screwed up Hamel. But I love the manga and the movie. I'd say that's my most favorite series.
The Magnificent Seven [Britt has just shot a fleeing bandit off his horse.]
Chico: That was the greatest shot I've ever seen.
Britt: The worst! I was aiming at the horse.

Nuku nuku-its just FUN. I mean its a damn android with the mind of a cat. And nuku nuku is absolutely kawaii...until she gets mad and like throws a bus at those agents or whatever they are LOL
Neon Genesis Evangelion-a total mindfuck. I love it all. I also love the theme song
Sailor moon- (yeah I know a 20 year old guy shouldnt like this, but the plot is thick enough, and the subject matter definitely mature enough towards the end for me to like it...but its also got Sailor Venus and the lovely Setsuna) I like the storyline, the way it portrays (somewhat) Japanese daily life and customs and jumps between extremely funny to downright dramatic
Tenchi ANYTHING-I love it all, the movies, the OAVs, the TV series, all of it. And Ryoko, Washu, and Kiyone help matters quite a bit
Blue seed-Yes you have another fan. Even though I havent seen much, Im dying to see more. Much more
Love Hina-saw about 16 episodes and its hilarious. I love the hcick with the katana who always tries to kill the poor guy. And Narusegawa isnt too bad of a looker either. (shame on me)
Bubblegum Crisis (NOT TOKYO 2024)-good stuff. Priss is bliss
Gunsmitch Cats-Better stuff. How can you dislike a anime where the 2 main characters drive a shelby GT500 and have loads of guns and bombs?
DBZ-when it finally gets down to the action, (such as achieving a new SS level, finally defeating something, or a tournament) its quite entertaining...but its not very deep
Iria-well its actually a movie, but divided into 6 episodes...all of which kick serious ass. This is a GOOD ONE.
As you can see, I mainly have seen the mainstream ones.
The rest were basically single video or two part videos, like Iczelion, Plastic Little (THIS is fucked up), and the very rarely heard of sukeban Deka
ANYONE ELSE HERE LIKES SUKEBAN DEKA?

There are so many titles I could list.
Before I start - BIG THUMBS UP to whoever it was who listed NieA_7.
Anyway... here are just a few off the top of my head.
Movies:
Wings of Honneamise - Brilliant writing. A huge amount of effort went into the background world... and some very strong messages for the audience.
Whispers of the Heart - Simple and sweet. While I love all the Ghibli films, I had to list this one.
Grave of the Fireflies - Very sad and moving. This is a powerful movie that tackles war on a very emotional level and mustn't be missed.
Utena - The Utena movie is gorgeous to look at. Amazing imagry that just overwhelms. Also fond of the original metaphors and symbols the creator chooses to tell his story. Brilliant.
OAVs:
El Hazard - The original El Hazard OAV is one of the reasons I am an anime fan. Combining adventure, drama, comedy and romance in a wonderful tapestry of characters. The magic of the OAV was never captured by any of the other El Hazard titles. One of the best romance stories as well.
The Hakkenden - This series is complicated mostly because it is heavily painted with Japanese symbolism. You have to know what some of the symbols mean to understand the subtlties of the plot. It has a wonderful mythic quality about it and I have had a lot of fun examining this series and breaking it apart. The animation is not that great... in fact, one episode is painful to watch...but, the story makes up for that by far.
TV Series:
Cowboy Bebop - This show has everything going for it. Top notch animation, top notch writing, and a gorgeous score by Yoko Kanno. I can't say enough about how good this series is... it's also the only series where I prefer the English over the Japanese... and there's not another title I can say that about.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - Such a brave and brilliant show. This show is filled with complicated symbolism and very important messages for the viewer... I could go on and on about how amazing this show is... and how much work went into its creation (it is filled with more references than most people would ever notice... you would be amazed at all that's in the show). The writing is complex, containing an involving surface story that distracts us from the main story which is well concealed until the series begins to expose itself. This is one of the best titles I have ever seen.
Well... that's off the top of my head.

How could anyone like the Original El hazzard compared to the wanderers Ifurita is way cuter in the wanderers. Right now two animes have my attention and I can't get them out of my head. Azumanga Daioh and Pita ten. Could it be that Azumanga Daioh is knocking on the door to my number 1 spot and Osaka is challenging lum in my heart. As for Pita ten I was crying over the last episode I saw number 24 it was so heartwarming and then sad at the end. I think I may have been Having a Milo moment.

Are you just seeking out my posts so that I can insult you, you little maggot?Mroni wrote:How could anyone like the Original El hazzard compared to the wanderers Ifurita is way cuter in the wanderers.
Is your life so empty and useless that you actually enjoy having people tell you what a shallow and purile stain you are in this world?
Your endless posts on how you equate the quality of a series to how well you can whack off to the female characters has painted a picture of how much stock anyone should take in your feeble opinions.
I could expand on how The Wanderers is one of the worst titles out there because it dumbs down everything great about the original El Hazard OAV into something that people like you can be entertained by.
You are one of the cancers on this message board Mr. Oni.
