With Slayers, Naga's big boobs was fairly unique to the show, and Naga wasn't always in every show. The show wasn't a big bunch of Nagas.

With Lina, it was more dialogue than visuals. She was just known to not like people mentioning he lack of a bust. And it's not like she has no bust, it just wasn't a massive set like Naga's and Naga tended to hassle her for it.

It wasn't totally over done.

Yeah, like Mahoromatic which I know annoyed a bunch of people (see Ishbalan's post above). Actually for me, Mahoro's insecurity with her bust size bothered me more. Yeah, I know that real life women have the same insecurities (if they didn't purely cosmetic surgery wouldn't exist), but it kinda made light of the issue using it as an excuse for fanservice. Not that I'm against some fanservice in anime, but everything in moderation.

What bothers me is how often the entire point of a scene is 'look at these boobies'. That's done to normal sized tits as well. So it ain't the size but the whole the show has nothing except tits to entertain me with thing. If I just wanted to see titties I would have downloaded porn.

What bothers me more than that is when I go to a con and see girls cosplaying as these big breasted characters. Makes me want to pull them aside and carefully explain that since they haven't hit puberty yet they don't have the assets to pull off that cosplay, and even if they did they're 12 so shouldn't be flashing their titties anyway. OTOH it gives me something to fap to so I guess I can't complain too much.
