I think the opposite, in that End of Evangelion is the true ending.
My source, questions 24 & 25.
The TV ending, while perfectly viable in its own right (Shinji coming to terms with the implementation of the Human Complementation Project), only came about because of time, money, and censorship constraints.

speaking of Eva
it looks like its going to be shown on Cartoon Network and on Toonami none the less

I'm surprised that NGE is getting shown on CN, and I NEVER thought it would be shown on Toonami.
I wonder if they will edit out the sexual situations and/or the religious symbolism

I'm not so sure about this.
At the Ohayocon State of the Industry panel, it was stated that Evangelion would've been on the air long ago if it could be shown uncut.
Seeing as how Cartoon Network backed out of showing Rejected at the last minute because it contains the words "Sweet Jesus!" I seriously doubt Evangelion will be shown uncut, if at all.
Plus, according to the press release, only two episodes will be shown! What good does that do?

Wouldn't a removal of the religious symbolism force them to edit out the first 24 minutes of every episode? I mean, shit!! Look at how they fucked up G Gundam!! And that not even remotely religious! Like calling it the Devil Gundam is going to kill the general public.

Actually where im from, CN has already shown the series of Eva. It was on adult swim. I dont recall them cutting anything out though, except for the beginnings that is, the one with the cruel angel's thesis song.
I hope someday they might show the movies.
I tried introducing my DBZ friends to Eva, but they never got into it. They said it was to boring and stuff, oh well...

Hmmmmmm....
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.....
Eva, eh?
Well, the first 2/3 of the show were great. Good characters, interesting battles, and a clean plot that involved so many twists and intricate turns that I was soooo excited for the end of the series that I couldn't bear the suspense. And then I saw the ending.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
After seeing the attrociously boring and unfulfilling last 2 episodes, I heard that the movie, EoE, was the TRUE ending to the show, and actually showed what really happens, not what the hell Shinji is thinking (As if we cared). So then I saw that...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Now, if you liked the end of eva (movie or series) then I'm fine with that. I just wish that they had at least made it make sense and not just be purely charcter developement in the form of some trippy ass visuals. I wanted to know more of what was going on in the real world, which was left unexplained, especially at the end of EoE, which was left entirely open to the viewers interpretation (Not something I liked).

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

where are you? europe? As fare as I know (though I'm sure there's more) there are three cartoon network broadcast stations. Los Angeles, Atlanta, and London. When I lived in Holland we got CN on our cable packadge, it was in english because it came form London. CN there was fairly diffrent than here.Trunks_Blade wrote:Actually where im from, CN has already shown the series of Eva. It was on adult swim. Post subjects are a waste of time
Over here in England, the SciFi channel showed the entirety of the series. I wouldn't know the extent of the editing (ask AD), but it seemed to be pretty minor to me (just blanking the worst of the swearing and removal of some of the nudity, the latter of which could just be the dub as a whole so far as I know).
Dead girls don't say no.

that's wierd, there wern't edits to anything when I was watching the London broadcast a few years ago. What I really liked about it though was there were no comercials. They were just dumb cartoon network adds or fillers, or CN contests. Kinda like the disney channel, but over here we have birth control comercials, store comercials, toy comercials, cable comercials, satalite comercials, all these crappy no one wants to see comercials.
