Mmm HMM!! You're absolutely correct!!! The opening line to Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo -- and, in essence, the question asked by Miyazawa Yukino.

As for the haiku -- it was originally composed by Buson (1716-1784), and is used as the closing lines to the motion picture Houhokekyo Tonari no Yamada-kun (aka My Neighbors the Yamadas).
