Who is the worst character in all of anime? ***SPOILERS***

Mein Gott... I can't believe that we've made it through this many pages of this and nobody has mentioned one of the most eternally hated characters in anime: Lynn Minmei.

If there was ever a character I wanted to get killed off in an anime series, it was her. I mean, she's well up there with Miaka for being a whiny little bitch, but she's even worse, because in spite of being a Suzaku no Miko, Miaka is still essentially just a normal schoolgirl. Minmei is a whiny, selfish, primadonna who manages to f0x0r things up majorly on several occasions, and then ends up being the only one who can save everyone (note: I'm mainly referring to the movie, but she's every bit as bad in the TV series). I kept wanting one of the Zentradi to simplu step on her and be done with it. If I'd been in your place doing Iron Chef with Macross : DYRL as one of the sources Daniel, I would have found a way to work in like 5 seconds of nothing but Hikaru slapping the shit out of Minmei... that's always a crowd pleaser.

Well I don't like Minmei either, but I disagree on the Miaka comment. I don't think Minmei is like THAT much worse than Miaka. Miaka also causes pain in many of her friends (some even die) and tons of citizens of Hotohori's country. So I see them as somewhat equal in retardedness. Actually...maybe Minmei SLIGHTLY better since she can at least sing (I like the song Do You Remember Love?). Miaka? If she never entered the world...things would've been better for all of them.

As for my Iron Chef video, you dont understand how painful it was for me to have her in my video in a positive way. However, you've seen it and...well...I wanted to lip-sync "Forever and ever" and well...she did have a microphone and the scene was fairly easy to lip-sync since the mouth went up, down and slightly more open (for the holds). Trust me, I did think about making an anti-Minmei video (with other songs). However, as you saw from the audience reaction, the Minmei scenes went over well. Stupid fans thinking it was good with Minmei and all

Asuka............ liked her fine enough, i just cant stand the whiny bitchy attitude...... funny i think of her as the worst character of all time........ seeing as most of my avatars have been of her.....hmm oh yeah, theres also

Yugi Kaido.... (blue gender for the unimformed..), yet again, a whiny character...... just cant live with whiny characters..... ok when they go psycho and kill a load of things...... but not when locked in whiny mode (this applies to asuka also) now, im gona wait behind my at field, (powered by beer), to avoid being stabbed, burned or shot......

Kuronekosama doesn't make any sense! How are you gonna go and tell me that you HATED a tiny little plotless character? there's nothing to hate! It's just a cat, placed to make you confused. I suppose that some of us may still be in that concrete psychological stage in which they cannot appreciate that which they cannot understand...

LUPIN?!?!? HOW? He's AWESOME! C'mon, he always wins! What, do you hate him just because he looks strange; kinda like a monkey? Ridiculous!

And also, Hitomi? I guess she's not the greatest character, but... why hate her? She's nowhere near as annoying as that Cat... Merle. I guess I just don't see it.

Okay, but what I hated the most was... well, you know what? I really REALLY dislike the idea that the Children are always the most powerful, or best suited for things. It doesn't make any sense. An inexperienced, inadept, literally moronic (moron being a person of subnormal intelligence) being, in comparison to the mature characters, somehow always turns out to be this cliche godly nonsense. A child will always be less able than others, it's in our genetic coding. Is there some giant corperate head somewhere in Japan trying to promote this ongoing idea that life is this game in which all the kids should gather to beat the adults? It's very counterproductive.

P.S. These comments aren't aimed at individuals, as many have posted the idea about the cat, Hitomi, and Lupin. I'm just voicing a follow-up to these notions in general.

And while I'm at it...

Alucard the Dull and Uninteresting.

Ceres is the only decent character in that whole eye-candy series. The animation is pretty, the character designs are nice, but the characters themselves (Ceres excepted, maybe Integral) are so shallow and void of depth.

Plus, the story sucks. Because it's nonexistent.

Well...yes and no...

Basically, Hathaway survives the entire film, however Quess does play into his death later on. (On that note, I'm surprised Bright didn't beat him to blindness upon learning about Chein...but I digress)

Anyway, what I'm getting at ties into the sequel novel 'Hathway's Flash' (I confess, I've yet to read this one myself since it's not yet available in the US...so I'm working on second hand info)

Apparently, Hathaway, in the future is still being haunted by the NT spirit of Quess. Later on, due to circumstances I can't remember off the top of my head (sorry, I'll check up on this part) he becomes an anti-EF revolutionary, is eventually arrested, and sentenced to execution by firing squad (in a truly ironic twist, Bright signs the execution papers without even learning it's his own son being executed (at the time Hathaway was under the alias 'Mafty'.)
Apparently, just before being killed, Quess appears before him, he informs her that he did all of this for her which leads to the equivalent response of:
"Why? I never liked you anyways."

Hence, ripping his heart out through his ass right before death.

(Hope that started to clear it up...)

Actually, I liked Miaka. At least she was funny. My sister has an interesting theory that anyone who didn't like Miaka probably saw the English dub. I saw about 10 seconds of the English dub and I'd have to agree with anyone who hated her. So I just thought I'd make sure, are we taking English Miyaka or original?

I should state for the record that I didn't hate Hitomi in the movie, just "TV" Hitomi.

What a B!TCH! I hated her just based on the shit she did in Char's Counter-Attack. So a spirit eh? So that means she can now annoy the hell out of us and 'cause others pain from the land of the dead?

OK, that does bump Quess up in my order of characters I violently dislike. I actually could almost see her as a tragic character in CCA... but the stuff from Flash of Hathaway puts it much further into the different light.

I'd have to side with dwchang in defending Hitomi... she does definitely mature over the course of the series, and isn't really that whiny and annoying- for almost as many times as Van saves her, she saves him.

I do have to admit that the thing I disliked most about Fushigi Yuugi was the constant "Miakaaaaa!" "Tamahome!!!" all the time. If I wanted something like that, I'd dig out my CD with "Barrado Ranma to Akane" on it and listen to the end of it. She does get a lot of people hurt/killed/in trouble- but at least she's not actively trying to get them killed or in trouble. She also doesn't really realize her selfishness a lot of the time.

That's probably why I am so very un-fond of Minmei. She knows she's being a selfish bitch, but just doesn't care. I believe I'm remembering her line correctly: "Everyone else should just disappear!" Besides... I've hates Minmei for a while before seeing Fushigi Yuugi- Miaka just doesn't compare, at least in my mind. One of my most amusing memories from back in the club at school was one of the first times we shows "Do You Remember Love?". When Hikaru slapped Minmei, the whole audience cheered, and someone yelled, "SLAP HER AGAIN!!!!!"

Though Quess does rate up pretty close. Sad thing is, I knew someone back at school who was most fond of Quess out of all the CCA characters...
