Crapsing, er, ::cough cough:: Hellsing rather. A lot of people seem to like it, but I thought it was just shallow eye candy.

You assume that I am calling it crappy because it is new? Sorry, bucko, but that's not why I think it is crappy.

(1) There is so little story to it that it barely goes anywhere. The same "story" that they took 13 epsiodes to tell, could have been done in a 6 epsiode OVA just as easily. Crap, 3 episodes could contain all of the story they have to tell. Secret organizatin hunts vampires, traitor sells them out, bad-ass supernatural chaos unsues, main character comes out victorious, hoo-fucken-ray.

(2) Incognito is a very bad villian. Yeah, he has the nifty supernatural powers and all that jazz, but he just comes out of nowhere, with no background or motivation beyond a (very loosely defined) superiority complex, and randomly attacks the main good guy character.

(3) Alucard is a highly uninteresting protagonist. He is simply too powerful. He dies, he comes back to life, ohmigod so shocking. He's in-fucken-vincible. Where's the tension, the interest, the reason to give a damn? He's gonna live no matter what happens to him, and not because "he's the main character, he can't die!", but because it's established in ep 1 that he can be torn to shreds and he'll just regenerate himself. Why bother watching when the outcome of every fight is determined from the very first episode?

(4) They bring in an interesting character, the priest Alexander, who has some potential, but never develop him beyond the random-villian thing. He's in two episodes, three if you count his 2-second blip during the final showdown, and none of them have him as anything more than someone who fights Alucard.

Yes his background seemed to be cut short to me. Like they said: "Well, our ratings suck, and we have all this money. We'll just blow it on some cheezy digital effects and call it a day. I really would like to have seen who and why Incognito was serving. It looks to me as that were the plan, but lack of interest drew it short.

No arguments there. :?
It was kind of upsetting to me too. Atleast they made it right by introducing as powerful an enemy (Incognito). And some villains with seemingly similar power, but differing in capabilities (Valentine Bros.)

Very true! Hence why I would like to se a continuation of the series.

If I heard good reviews on it, I might get the fabled second season, just in the hopes that it fleshes out what is there now some more.

But if I heard it was just more of the same... no.

AVOID ALL ANIME!

Since every anime is hated by at least one person (Probably more), then if every person in the world chimed in on this thread, the thread would have every anime title in the world in it.

Therefore, avoid all anime.

BTW, I think you should avoid:

Evangelion
Demon City Shinjuku
Dragon Ball Z

And just to piss people off, AVOID THESE!

Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Naruto
Trigun
Hellsing

THEY ALL SUCK!!!!!

(If you take this list seriously, you're a fool.)
Alcohol, Drugs, Overdrive, Noise, Neon Lights, Party People, Revolution

While I admit that both endings could have been a hell of a lot better, the first 24 episodes have a depth and emotional intensity that nothing can match, not even the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (although it comes close). NGE does not deserve mention on a board of this kind.

And as for Yu-Yu-Hakusho, the first couple of episodes were actually pretty good. Sure, it eventually degenerated into a DBZ-style crap-fest, but you should at least watch the first few eps.

Ok I just cant let the fact that someone said Cowboy Bebop sucks, u need to download like episode like 29 i think it is, called Pierrot Le Fou, watch it, and if u say Bebop sucks then ur just plain crazy.

Uh, check the number again. Bebop only goes to episode 26. And for those who hate Evangelion and Bebop, it's because they don't want to use their brains or they don't enjoy a really good plot.
Bebop had a good plot? That's news to me. Only a handful of episodes had plot, the rest were useless fillers. The plot it did have was a cliche lovestory of two starcrossed lovers. Been done to death already. Plus the bland and cliche characters didn't help much.. the only likeable one was Ed.

dragonball whatnot-- Animation sucks,Characters suck,Plots suck
Ah, ignorant Dragonball bashers. The world may never live to see them be exstinct.
Ignorant huh? For stating a simple fact? Db is trash anime I would rather watch pokemon. It has better animation and better plots.

I agree about Yuyu but any anime that makes you waste your money is a crap anime and Eva is just that nice until the ending. Now as for emotional intensity i don't get that from eva. Unless wacking is emotionally intense cause I can wack to Asuka or Hikari. An emotionally intense anime is somthing like figure 17 or last exile.
