Deringers.

I never cared for them because they're
a) one shot per gun and
b) too much of a burden to carry.

Granted, though, they were pretty badass in episode four. 8)

no ... the mythology behind the Lance of Longinus is that it had the blood of Jesus on it, and therefore is the most powerful weapon in existance period. It's supposed to be powerful enough that you can kill god or satan himself with it. Alos it's suppsed to be able to perice the soul. So if you kill somone with it you destroy their soul.

Burden? ok, maye if you carry as manny as Meryl ... But the purpose of Derringers initialy was that they were an elegants womans gun. eventualy they became a spy gun ment for descrete assasinations. Most Derringers i've seen hold 4 .22 rounds, at Point blank range it's all you need. However i have seen .30-06 and 12 gauge derringers. Mostly they're either for masocists who like breaking their wrists or for defense against bears.

Very well...I'll concede on Devil, but holding to Billbine and Mazinkaiser, as well as maintaining the earlier point that Rei is not the best of the EVA pilots

Since we're talking about the Lance, I always found it interesting that the legend is based off something that's actually in the Bible (that's nothing new, but I still find it interesting 8)). In one of the Four Gospels, during the time when Christ was crucified, a soldier (Longilus apparently) stabbed him in the side, to see if he was still alive I guess, and as it says in the Bible "fluid came out". I don't think I need to say anymore, since most people can figure the results of that out.

At lot of things are in the Bible, including zombies and talking animals

fluid ... i could have sworn it was water and blood ... but that could have been some bullshit that they made up after the fact.

besides the obvious awesome weapons, i like the the crazy liquis sword the Broomhead from the Juppongata uses and the Sax player from the Gung-ho guns because, c'mon, whos gonna kill a guy with a saxaphone!?
