Granted I did get far too personally offended. But I just can't take it, so many people say that Dragonball Z is full of constant powering up and level talk. It isn't. I watch the show every day, I watch it intently and pay close attention. The first 50 or so Anime related things I bought where all Dragonball Z fansubs. Anyone who thinks that they power up for episodes and talk about powerlevels constantly is completely wrong. I'm not going to argue the merit of the filler, that's a completely different topic, but they really make excruciatingly little refference to power outside of the conflict with Freezer.
Look at all my trials and tribulations
Sinking in a gentle pool of wine.
Don't disturb me now, I can see the answers
'Till this evening is this morning, life is fine.

The key distinction you aren't making (or rather probably didn't read) is that I never said the entire show was powering up and even said (multiple times) that I enjoyed it as a child and still can enjoy the manga (some of them are even so worn that they're falling apart).

The fact you get offended by DBZ comments is well...that's your fault not ours.

Maybe your idea of talking about power is different from mine.

I meen come on not only in every episode during a fight are power levels mentioned but heck there was a whole episode devoted to goku powering up during the buu saga. Half of the freaking episode mind you was him growing longer hair :(

Just wanted to put up some clips for fun. ^_^ Check it out.. it's from the japanese version. What a weird sound..o.o See how Funimation makes great battle scenes like this annoying?

Sometimes the powerups and fights do drag on a little, but as I said before, it doesn't hurt the show as a whole. Power ups don't last for nine episodes and they aren't constantly blabbing about powerlevels and such... Saying things like that makes everyone think it's only non stop fighting. It's really a very heartwarming show, and the characters are incredible.

No one should complain about the plot, if Dragonball Z didn't have a great plot I would hate it... sure fighting is the thing it's known for... but it's about SO MUCH MORE.

It bugs me when people say the plot is...
bad guy comes
everyone losing
bad guy is defeated

whatever... what about everything that leads up to the main fight!? The show has a great plot, and no one will ever convince me otherwise. The fight is NOT the plot.

Wow, don't be mad, just reply ok? Thanks!

I'm expecting someone to say, "Good for you, now shutup" lol! =P

And if DBZ never existed, that swanky Mario Bros 3 segment from the NES Project would be less of what it is today.
I probably would have replaced it with Naruto.

and that's right! Usually when powerup are long, they show what's going on with everyone else.. side stories..

That's something GT needed BADLY... it had no character development what so ever.

Heh, after all the complaints about how drawn out and boring the dbz fights were, I found the GT Vegeta versus Sons fight to be stupid - short, a few shots and then that dull conclusion (I won't spoil it). I'd rather have had a 2 episode face off than the entire thing in about 10 minutes - with the actual fight coming in 1-2 minute spurts between dumb character chat (there's your side story - I'd rather have the focus on the fight).

Maybe dbz's long fights have grown on me more than I thought, but killing it ruins any possible drama or importance - it's just a dumb little tiff that's over before it begins. :? As much as I hated the Goku/Freiza battle, at least it was long enough to build tension.

I Still Love Dbz!

Funny, I loved the Goku vs. Freeza battle..I think it's one of the best parts of the show. Only the dub annoyed me(lord I hate it)..

I know most people probably don't believe it, but if you hate a saga in the dub, you might love it in the original version.

It's a completely different show.. really, the original is different, The whole FEELING is different.

People really don't believe that...it's true though!
