think you're all mistaken! This isn't from a movie! This is a shot from a commercial for the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida's alligator wrestling show! That's right folks...pay six dollars at the entrance and get ready for some great Saiyan-style action!

Wow...um...how old is this movie?
Huh !? So you are saying that the picture is from a commercial in Florida.... have any proof? I can't really belive that until i have proof... i mean, why would he be using a stifk like that, and sticking his head in?? That's almost as crazy as the croc hunter's little episode with his kid....

they already did a nice job of ruining the storyline.... Read my spoiler, and you'll see how f**cked up the storyline really is...

that was extremely fucked up storywise, and i kind of think they should be respectful to Dragonball and not just make it the setting for the Saiyan Saga, but a movie of it's own... not like the old japanese live-action... i mean good, lol
and that picture that was posted just so everyone knows if from the extremely old live-action movie, i think i also remember hearing that it's true that getting rights to sumtin like Dragonball is very hard, so they changed a lot of the stuff, mainly names is what i hear, so it's not even a high-budget official Dragonball movie from what i hear... but it is unanimous that it sux majorly, and after reading that storyline, i don't have high hopes for this one, it looks like it's just a bunch of action crammed together and minimal storyline to explain... and it sounds like the original Piccolo will be fighting, and not his youthful offspring.

i could go on forever on how that new movie storyline is shitty and pointless.. but i don't have the time, and i'm sure there are many people reading this topic that think Dragonball and it's Sequels are shitty and pointless as it is. I don't agree with them (cept about gt) but that's the way it is.

(again, to the original poster)

If you're going to post a link, please post one from an OFFICIAL site. And just because it's on IGN doesen't mean it's official.

Geez, I've never seen this much speculation since before MGS2 game out. XD

To add to my post:

for example, Funmation is NOT doing the movie, so they can't really be an official source. Case in point:

source: Saiyanz Rage

According to Saiyanz Rage, a source within 20th Century Fox has posted the following:

FOX is shooting for a PG-13 rating and a running time of somewhere between 3 to 4 hours. They are hoping for the DBZ movie saga to be 4 episodes long (4 movies). Starting in The Saiyan Saga, The Frieza Saga, The Android/Cell Saga, and the Majin Buu Saga.

George Lucas' CGI company ILM has signed a contract to do the special effects. Some sad news, due to casting and scheduling difficulties, filming that was set to begin real soon has been put off until Summer 2004. The original Release Date. Once the movie is finished filming and all post-production effects are added in, this movie may not be out until well into 2005.

As of right now there is no definite title. The most obvious choice would be plain "DragonBall Z", but FOX is also leaning toward "DragonBall Z: Unlimited" or "DragonBall Z: Fight For Man Kind."

None of this information is confirmed.
I think that bold type speaks for itself. I am just as exited about this movie as the next guy, but stating rumors like they are TRUE won't help anyone.

Ah...fansite...because we all know it's more reliable than the studio could ever be...

In the immortal words of Sam Neill:

"Forgive me if this sounds...a little bit like bullshit..."

Seriously though...with a photo like that, and a cast/crew such as this source is proposing...DBZ may be big over here in terms of anime, but I don't think it would be THAT big...

(Especially since, from what memory serves, Fox's last announcement on the project said it was effectively in limbo)

i agree that the fansite is as Mr. Neil says it is, but the photo and cast list are two different projects, the photo is from the already existing Dragonball live-action made long ago in a crappy studio far far away, and the cast list is unconfirmed, imo, i think that's another one of those wish-list things, probably a real list, but not in any way a realistic one at this point.

well, from talking to the owner of the site, he said that all of his information comes from an uncle who works for FOX... all the info he got from FOX themselves, and if you look on his site, he has a section for rumors... He told me that Hugh Jackman being fired was mainly due to schedueling difficulties, and Jackman and Fox both agreed it would be better not to use him... he had other movies to work on (not sure what)

The cast dosen't seem like a "fantasy" cast.... i would never really pick Orland Bloom for Tien, and most people don't know who Sam Wheeler is..... On top of that, I can't belive they picked Jason Bateman.... The only person i see who could be part of the "Fantasy" cast is Goldberg...

The storyline does suck, but they wanted it different then Dragonball and DBZ... for the main reason: would you pay to see a live action movie of an exact replicate of DBZ? Some (like me) would, but a lot wouldn't... from what he said, a lot of people, through their kids and others, have realized what most of here at the forums say: DBZ is not the greatest.... and he said that's what is worrying them... the main reason they were at first skeptical on even making it... his uncle said that they knew that they needed a diff. storyline, a good cast, and good speical effects for us to wanna go... would you go see it if they didn't make a good Kamehameha wave or have someone that can act out goku?? This is basically a matter of getting us to see it, and make money off of all us DBZ fans, while making into an action movie that non-dbz fans will think of seeing...
