Actually, with our (speaking as an American) society it *would* be considered homoerotica and thereby light porn. On the other hand you can see Bruce Willis' penis in 'Color of the Night' during one of the multiple explicite sex scenes and the movie is rated R because it's a man and woman *in* those scenes.

But *I* don't consider those scenes porn - porn is gratuitous, it's wet, it's there for the simple purpose of showing sex. In most cases (all aside from X rated hentai flicks like Boku no Sexual Harrassment), yaoi anime is merely strong shonen ai with a few light 'love' scenes as part of the story. There's no comparison of that to things like La Blue Girl. In hentai the sex is there just to show sex. Most yaoi anime don't even *show* sex, let alone that sort of graphic presentation. And as rare as it is, there *are* yuri anime that are more shoujo ai than outright sex. I belive Utena is the key example of this.

Those who think it's just sex haven't watched the anime and have little room to make judgements on the matter. They're just griping for the sake of griping, or because they've been misinformed and don't know any better.

I would just like to clear up a little something real quick...

Yuri and Yaoi are not Hentai. At least, not automatically. Obviously, there can Hentai girl-girl and guy-guy material. However, those aren't really Yuri and Yaoi. "Yuri" and "Yaoi" just refers to deeper, mature relationships between two girls or two guys. "Hentai" refers to perverted material. If a Yaoi or Yuri image is perverted, (huge body parts, excessive amounts of bodily fluids, rape.. -_-) then yes, that specific image is Hentai. ^_~
