Actually, in it's first run they got up to...part of me wants to say the 40 episode mark (I can't say really because they skipped out on 39, then showed 40, then just stopped entirely due to 9/11)

But yeah, the AS run got up to around 20 before getting cut...they've only run the final episode (43) once

Does anyone know if they'll be showing any more Gundam on AS that isn't about babies? :?

They might be doing SEED (last check there was no announcement about which of the two blocks was getting it...but, given that show's fanservice quotient, the odds are in AS's favor)

Also there's talk (nothing confirmed as of yet) that they're going to attempt to run two edits of Zeta (one on Toonami, one on AS)

Once again, this last part isn't confirmed (although it would be pretty cool if it does happen)

Wing was the first Gundam series I ever saw b/c it was on AS at the time, but it might have been better if there were disco dancing. You know, with the robots and stuff. Strobe lights.

I saw my first eps of GW on Friday night (1-5) and I have to say, I thought the dubbing was pretty bad. I only watched the first 2 eps in English before switching over to Japanese. But I liked it...it was kind of a trial run for me. If I can see a few more eps I'm going to get the boxed set.

OK...smartass response aside:

Char's Counterattack was made to be the final story in the Char vs Amuro rivalry.

UC 0093, Char's come back into power commanding Neo-Zeon. At this point, he's begun his new plan to, as he believes it, speed along humanity's evolution into Newtypes. This plan being to drop asteroids on to Earth causing another ice age and driving humanity into space (sound familiar? The Wing writers decided to nab this one for their end as well...original little buggers ain't they?)
Anyways, Char needs only one final drop for his plan to succeed, the asteroid base Axis. However, Amuro and the collective forces of Londo Bell (another EF off-shoot made to combat Char's recent antics) are already working to try and stop him.
The movie was basically meant to be a major finish piece, the end of Char vs Amuro, the end of Zeon, etc, etc...
