That depends, are you refering to the Animatrix or the original film? If you mean the film then I want to hear the story behind that one. Details man!

Details? Well it was LIES!

Really the Akria movie got me into anime-even though I had watched pokemon and Dragon Ball Z for years beforehand-Akira made me want to watch different kinds.

i don't see why that shoudl be a surprise. If you look at how they fight and move in the matrix it's more or less really good live action anime.

See, tha's he problem with Th Matrix. It's a lve action movie with anime inspired scenes, and though they made an animation of it, it wasnt a true anime made by Japanese ppl. Sure they helped out, bt an anime is something that is animatd and made in Japan. That's what i think. but hey if Matrix got u into anime then good for u, i like that movie.

I think the first anime I ever saw was Voltron, but like many have said, I didn't realize it was Japanese back then. Then I think I started watching DBZ, b/c my friends were in to it. And it was pretty cool, but that opened the whole range of animes to me. A few people have said it, and I still hold to the fact that Cowboy Bebop is the best TV anime ever made, but I'm a huge fan of Yu Yu Hakusho (its the DBZ fan inside of me) because of its similarities to DBZ, with a much more adult view. Trigun Rules. And I wouldn't have gotten into the more adult animes without Princess Mononoke, it is probably one of the best movie animes ever made.

I am currently leading a secret organization at my High School that is trying to work behind the scenes and get Evangelion (and Berserk) shown in some classes, but you know the system... first we must become the school and then finally our goal will be realized.

It was a slow process...

Besides the anime that the kids could watch I had not watched much.

I saw Princess Mononoke...it holds the record for being the first anime I saw off of the saturday morning cartoon lineup. It would be months after that before I would see "Love Hina".....I liked Love Hina. But it was watching Fushigi Yuugi (with some FLCL mixed in there) that jump started my interest.

yes, yes i know, the first anime i actually saw was DBZ, but that's before i even really knew what anime was. The show that truely got me into anime and I feel in love with and made me want to watch more was Cowboy Bebop. I still haven't seen anything better more then 2 years later after watching if for the first time.
