well you sound much more reasonable now, so teh cool.
cartoon and anima are different, yes, but I could care less what people title it as long as they don't call it all crap. At least people who "like that cartoon" are willing to base judgment on a show based on it's story line and not its medium i.e. animated vs. filmed

Yes, I suppose so....
Really though.... the only people who call an Anime a Cartoon are those who have only gotten as far as liking the stuff on Cartoon Network... so it isn't that bad, cause why would you listen to someone like that about this subject anyways?..... And of course, all the Anime fans who like watching Anime already know that Anime and Cartoons are two different things...... So I'm not sure who I was really yelling at..... I'm just tired of quick and unreasonable assumptions being the basis of what something really is....

I will say this yet AGAIN because certain individuals can't seem to grasp the concept.
car·toon Pronunciation Key (kär-tn)
n.
A drawing depicting a humorous situation, often accompanied by a caption.
A drawing representing current public figures or issues symbolically and often satirically: a political cartoon.
A preliminary sketch similar in size to the work, such as a fresco, that is to be copied from it.
An animated cartoon.
A comic strip.
A ridiculously oversimplified or stereotypical representation: criticized the actor's portrayal of Jefferson as a historically inaccurate cartoon.
v. car·tooned, car·toon·ing, car·toons
v. tr.
To draw a humorous or satirical representation of; caricature.
v. intr.
To make humorous or satirical drawings.
This is like the geometry comparison of squares and rectangles. Hopefully some of you fanboys and fangirls out there can grasp the concept.
All animated humorous cartoons originating in Japan are Japanese anime. Not all Japanese anime are cartoons.
Excel Saga- Cartoon
Dragon Half- Cartoon
Project A-Ko- Cartoon
Golden Boy- Cartoon
Ebichu- Cartoon
and so on.
I hope that was easy enough to understand. Next time if it isn't getting through I will try to express myself monosyllabicaly for you.

Those Animes can be considered cartoons only in description. If you call them cartoons only meaning that they are funny, then I suppose it's OK.
That kind of cartoon is very different from the Cartoons that I was talking about....
I think the Idea of saying that a cartoon is "An animated cartoon" seems kinda weird...... no?
But still... Animes are more than just drawings.... And I especially believe this for the funny Animes like Excel Saga and Dragon-Half...... so, most of those definitions don't even apply. And besides, I said earlier that the technical definitions aren't too important anymore. Since we have both Anime and Cartoons, you have to use these words respectively now to point out either an Anime or a Cartoon.... you can't go around saying that they are both the same when there are these two different words for them both.... and of course... they're not the same anyways. "Gay" doesn't mean "Happy" anymore, does it? But, what does it say in the dictionary? (I mean, what is the PRIMARY definition of "Gay" in the dictionary?)
-----------
I'd also like to add that I wouldn't consider games like the Street Fighter series and Devil May Cry to be Cartoon games.... those are easily Anime games! So... that kinda helps to point out why these two very different medias have two different names.... no?
