My Dad actually said that he'd rather have Inuyasha on daytime TV than DBZ.
Of course, Dad really hates DBZ, and I think he'd like to be able to watch Inuyasha without staying up so late or worrying about setting the VCR to record it.
Dad's funny.

Where I live I only found less than a handful of parents that don't hate it (note that I didn't say like). I guess perents opinions on things differ from reigon to reigon. Nothing I say makes any sense, or does it?Kathreen wrote:blueshogun96 wrote:Why do you think that?????weird? Yes.

When we were kids, I remember my mom and dad watching anime with us in the evenings (a few decades back ). Then some time back Cartoon Network was showing the Yu Yu Hakusho series and we started watching the Dark Tournament saga and got caught up in anime again. We watch both imports and domestic releases of various anime but my mom prefers those she can watch and listen to in English (she has a problem with reading the subtitles on most of them). Her favorites are Marmalade Boy and Fruits Basket but she'll watch almost anything we watch. The challenge is finding a series that's complete because otherwise she keeps bugging me when is the next dvd out, do I know what's going to happen next, etc. We also got her manga to read but she sometimes stays up until the wee hours of the morning watching anime or reading manga. I'm thinking of taking her to a convention in two months. Oh, she's in her 70's.

On my opinion I think that a lot of people doesn't care about what parents think about animes coz' to them
"Their Wants, Parents Buy"
to anyone who doesn't quite get it, it means that they only care about when they want something parents buy it for them and they don't care if parents like what they like.
P.S It's just an opinion, I'm not saying it's really true.

It makes sense. I guess a parent liking anime would look pretty wierd if all the parents you know aren't all that impressed by anime.blueshogun96 wrote:Where I live I only found less than a handful of parents that don't hate it (note that I didn't say like). Well, for those uber rebelios teens who are hell-bent to dislike anything they're parents like, anime would then become something to avoid.
Otherwise, I don't think it would affect overall popularity.
