Trigun - it's a very rewarding series ^^ it has emotional parts and funny comical parts. I cried a lot at one part :(
Angelic Layer - most of the series is cute, but I was moved by the last little bit
Berserk - awsome just plain awsome....
Now and then Here and There - you will NEVER seen another anime like this....very very good
Grave of the Fireflies - Super depressing..... but very good
Eva - Not so great until the end..and the movie End of Evangelion now thats good
Ayashi no Ceres - Romantic and weird ^^ but overall ok
Kenshin Ovas - everyone needs to see this
Onegai Teacher - good... made my cry :(
Maison Ikkoku - really old but super down to earth and cute
I have more but thoes stand out the most ^^
You are so right it's like you're talking for me. Trigun, berserk, and Eva are awsome. So are Jin-roh, Galaxy Express, and Jin-roh.

While Inu-Yasha does have some emotional points it isn't huge on the tear jerking or heart warmingness of some of the other anime mentioned. The best Inu-Yasha emotional eps involve:
New revelations about Inu-Yasha and Kikyo's relationship
When Inu-Yasha's mother is brought up
Kohaku
There's a few Inu-Yasha/Kagome moments and the odd Sango/Miroku moment
The movie
But spread over 90 episodes it is hard to call Inu-Yasha a very emotional series.

Kanon(PC game) - yes it's also moving in different ways...but if you can understand jap or find a really good translation...this is damn good...
