Though I agree with the comparison, I think they both have a lot going for them. Two different takes on the same basic story plot. I wouldn't want to change either one. Rah seem more into the story and the relations of the individuals, Eva seems more into the psychology of the individuals. Just my opinion.

ok one thing rahxephon copys evangelion in allmost every single way and they both end the same so to all the people who seen the seris of evangelion and not the 2 movies go see the movies and u will see the true ending of evangelion

but in the most part i like both animes but rahxephon copys evangelion allot. Heck even most of the english voices are from evangelion

exactely.
You have to see the 2 movies to understand the endings.

Also the art ect in eva , the remastered (platium) edition have been released so maybe you should take a second look look. Also directers cut eps of 21-24.
I watched both and I like liked eva a lot better. I liked the chracters. They were a perfect blend of ecarh personality type.
Asuka - bitchy , outgoing
Rei - quite , doesnt really care about anything
Shinji - scared , somewhat anti-social

And, to be fair, EVA copied quite a few titles as well (again, don't make me get the articles out on this one.)

Hell, End of Evangelion is a MASSIVE nod to Tomino's 'The Ideon - Be Invoked' (and I can definitely attest to this fact having seen both movies...technically four if one counts the compilation movies for each ('Death' and 'A Contact' respectively)

Does RahXephon lift things from EVA? Yes, there's some similarities...but at the same time, let's not make it seem like EVA's not done it.

both series are works of art. i watched eva first, twice. i was a huge fan ever since. then i saw rahxephon on anime network, i got the boxed set and movie. i watched the series several times, i was hooked after watching 1 or 2 episodes. i agree that in evangelion you have to watch the 2 movies to really understand the ending, but with rahxephon, the series ends and it all makes sense. then when you watch the movie, the story gets even better.
i just bought the space runaway ideon boxed set, but i haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I got a few of rei. Just the face. And 2 of rei with unit 0 and asuka with unit 2.
