Dragonball is trash, hm? That must be why it's the most popular in the world, ever. It set the bar for Shounen anime in general. Without it, you wouldn't have your Naruto, Shaman King, Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsers, and other series.

That's like saying Metropolis sucked. Metropolis DEFINED the Sci-Fi genre. It was ripped off by Star Wars so much. So without Metropolis; Star Wars, and tons of other shows and anime wouldn't have been made.

For being over 20 years old, it's pretty good manga/anime for it's time. A light hearted adventure of Son Goku which eventually leads to take down Piccolo Daimaou and Ma Jr.

To say Pocket Monsters has better animation is a sure sign of ignorance. Of course a series 20 years newer would have better animation than one 20 years earlier.

Exactly. How else do you explain the popularity of Barney or Pokemon?

I totally disagree Dragon ball is from the late 80s and there was tons of stuff out in the 80s better than pokemon animation wise. If you like Dragonball that is your affair I think it's an anime to avoid.

And what exactly is the connection between Fritz langs metropolis and Star wars???? That they have robots in them? The first sci fi film was made in 1898 and its about a journey to the moon. And I'm kind of confused because the recent anime metropolis is nothing like the 1926 film. I Like metropolis both the anime and the old movie. But please elaborate what star wars ripped off of metropolis?
