Legend of Zelda?
Now that you mention it, I have sometimes wondered whether the short Legend of Zelda cartoon series isn't actually a dubbed anime. I've noticed that the characters' voices seem rather strained here and there (from being distorted to sync with their lip movements, perhaps?) and that Link makes some rather suggestive comments about Zelda's appearance at one point (when he's looking down her dress from a neighboring tower) that probably wouldn't have passed muster with the censors if the cartoon were originally American...
Could it be that there's an original Japanese version of the Legend of Zelda cartoons floating around somewhere out there? I wonder... If only the show's makers had gotten some decent voice actors and geared the story more toward teenagers than children, that series could have been awesome! Then again, maybe they did, and maybe it really is. Anyone care to speculate?
