What kind of shallow question is that? Why don't you read a by Hemmingway of the Bible!? That would do you a lot more than any anime that you watch. I knew there was a reason I didn't go on this site too much.Spike_ Spiegel wrote:Alot of times in anime, it tends to get really deep. So deep that it has an effect on your life. Anime in general has had a large affect on my life. Dragon Ball Z, Berserk, Kare Kano, all were important. Evangelion in particular changed my mindset forever.
Look at all my trials and tribulations

Though some series affected me more than others, I've learned a lot from all of the series I've seen, and I've often learned the same things from surprisingly different shows:
-Some of the anime characters I've seen were so courageous, understanding, etc., that I starting acting like them without realizing it. I know that they're just animated, but I believe that the characters were created to give a sort of message to the viewers. So, my personality really jumped from before I saw anime to after.
-My art improved so much it's crazy. Anime and manga taught me a whole new drawing style that has now become my obsession.
-I started to appreciate plot twists and surprises, things outside of the typical guy-saves-girl-then-kills-bad-guy-and-both-live-happily-ever-after stroylines.
-Anime led me to fanfiction, which meant that I actually read something! For fun! w00t!
-Most importantly, being an anime fan has taught me just how important being yourself is. Probably 80% or more of my friends all hate anime. A lot. But I didn't ditch what I love just because it's not 'cool' in their eyes. That's the biggest thing anime has done for me, and I cannot thank it enough!

.....I agree with CC. I had previously been all for the killing of *stupid* people (mainly the sub-villains who are unattractive and of minor intelligence.) And then Vash and Millie happened, and suddenly I saw the human race through their eyes...and alternately, through Knive's eyes. Spiders and Butterflies. (PS, The amv Eden portrayed that theme well.)Cloud Clone wrote:Watching Trigun made me feel bad about killing people. Not that I stopped or anything, but I sure feel guilty about it.
Now I'm sad for Vash and Millie's sakes whenever I kill ANYTHING on my video games....dammmit. Most of my 007 multiplayer game time is now mainly concerned with making my brother stop killing the other players...you can imagine how well THAT turns out. I don't know how Vash does it...or is it because he's an angel? Anyway, thanks a lot, Vash, now I'm stuck playing stupid animal crossing for the rest of my life
(PPS, I don't kill real people like you do, Cloud Clone, but I am very jealous that you have that opportunity )
We're not God. Not only are our powers limited, we sometimes are driven to become the devil himself.

Naruto is one of the few animes that have really effected me... i cried when Zabuzan and Haku died...but yeah. it definitely taught me that the bonds of friendship are extremely powerful things. I have also seen that badguys can sometimes look cooler than goodguys *points to Gaara and Orochimaru*. InuYasha has taught me that history has a way of repeating itself and any relationship can work in the end and that it would be so cool to have a set of those beads to use on my friends sometimes. "SIT BOY!" So, Wolf's Rain said that wolves are cool, Rurouni Kenshin's list is too long, DragonBall taught me to go for my dreams and always fight for the good guys because the baddies end up dead, Gundam Wing created my aspiration to create my own mini Gundam(which is going slowly, but well)(it's really small, however, like Mech-sized and i will be able to ride it soon), Yu-Gi-Oh taught bonds of friendship and egypt is cool, Sakura Wars taught me that good things can come from France *points to Iris and the Iron Maiden* and so on. Deep Breath.

GTO helped me have a more positive few on education, sure its as boring as all hell but if you take in the episodes on cd and watch them, it almost feels like your there.
Samurai X/Ninja Scroll made me realise just how good we have it today, the fact that governments screwed over the people of certain towns or cities just to cover their butts. Oh wait they still do that.. never mind.
Evangelion proved to me that their are crazy people in this world who must be smoking some bad shit to come up with that kind of story.
DragonBallZ made me realise that I had no life, seriously, I sat down and watched 10 episodes which consisted of Goku resting in a healing chamber while others flew to the battle ground and fought. It's quite sad.
