**Worst Dubs in Anime**

How bad is Ah! My Goddess? I only watched it in Japanese w/ English Subtitles....Should I stick with that?

OHM. I actually just watched Ah! My Goddess dub! Personally, I think they did a good job. Urd sounds sexy. Skuld sounds like a kid. Then Belldandy sounds SO adorable and innocent. I really liked Keiichi's voice, it was so mature and plain.

Plus, they had fun with Keiichi's two sensei, so it's funny to hear them speak. ^.^ Gomen nasai, I'm a fan of dubs (though I will agree that when they suck, they do suck). It's just that it's so cool that we're able to translate something from a different language into our own. As long as it's done right...

Bleeeh, I don't know if someone mentioned this or not, but the dub for Weiss Krutz SUCKS.

I don't know about this but I guess I'll watch it in English dubs and see what it sounds like.....Maybe it isn't so bad but if worse comes to worse...... I'LL STAY WITH THE DAMN SUBTITLES Besides, asian people have such amazing voices...especially when they have to portray anger through their tone of voice....seriously....go to any asain country and listen to there speech when they are in bad moods....I swear its amazing how you can tell they are angry through the tone in their voice and the way they say something.....

Nadesico. The voices themselves are pretty good, but some of the name pronunctiations will drive you mad. Yurika is not the name of a popular vacuum company.

The WORST anime ever is Cowboy bebop, there is only one word to describe it STUPID!!! I watched about five minutes of it, I tell you it was so bad I turned off the TV. Another very bad anime is the Gundum series it was horrible.

That's coming form someone who has "Rave Master" on their favorite anime list . I happen to like Gundam and Cowboy Bebop and by just saying what you did, I can assure you that you've pissed off over half the website members (including staff). Have a nice day...

The Gravitation dub made me cry like my puppy died. ;_; The dub people like hired one guy to do every characters voice, except for Yuki whose lines were typed into a computer and then read back by it. -_-

Another atrocious dub (and sub, stupid company) would be Tokyo Babylon. But then again, in the subbed version they translated one of the main characters names as "good morning."

The Angel Sanctuary dub was quite cringe worthy. I mean, Setsuna sounded like Casey Casem, Rociel was flamobantly over gay (I can't believe I'm complaining ) and Kurai was done by the same person who did Ash from Pokemon.

And though not in the top ten, the Yami no Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness) dub deserves an honorable mention for giving a chicken voiced originally by a woman a voice that Barry White would envy. Having Watari voiced by the same guy (and in the same VOICE) as James from Pokemon, and for turning a sultry villan into a nasal nerd. ><

Sailor Moon...dear god it's horrid. And I'm not talking about the little insignificant changes that everyone likes to bitch about (ie, calling them "Scouts" instead of "Soldiers", attack names, ect.)...I mean, making a lesbian couple go by the role of "cousins" and yet...leaving all their affectionate scenes in was really, really strange. They never kept their own story straight (a la, calling Ami "Amy Mizuno" and episodes later calling her "Amy Anderson", making Sailor Mercury become the second "scout" but then making Mars specifically say later on "no way, I was a scout before you!")...it was butchered, and while in the first two seasons (DiC's editing) was done well enough that an unknowing person couldn't tell what was cut and changed, the second two seasons (Cloverway's editing) were so badly done it was painfully obvious when cuts, mostly pointless cuts, were made. Not to mention that in the second two seasons they had people who couldn't voice act worth a crap.

But eh, for me it would be:

#5: X the Movie - It was just bad.

#4: Neon Genesis Evangelion (Original Dub) - I have yet to see the Platinum version, but the original dub I just couldn't get through the first three episodes.

#3: Those Who Hunt Elves - Again, I couldn't make it though more than a few episodes, where as I loved it subbed.

#2: Tenchi - It didn't even make sense by the time they were finished editing it, and Tenchi's voice actor just plain sucked.

#1: Sailor Moon (Particularly S and Super S) - For reasons stated above, and many many more which can be found at www.smuncensored.com.

I generally dislike dubs though. The only two anime I can think of that I actually prefer dubbed are "Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie" and "Akira".

yes nobody may be listening but I'd like to post some dubs that I actually have some issues with (not ones with voices I don't like like Eva... it's a GREAT dub!! A few bad voices but great dub)

let's start off with Banner of the Stars, no not Crest of the Stars, beleive it or not, I enjoy that slightly robotic tango they do, but in banner they even say 'glug, glug, glug' when they drink! OMGWTF?!!!!

#2 Grandia Mr Beer must DIE!!!! Not only does he speak slower than an 89 year old just wakeing from chrono-stasis, he also does the incredibly stupid RABBIT!

#4 MD Geist and VF Gowcaizer. Don't quite remember why, but worst dub EVER!
